CIMA fwfwiofzg Our adventure in the halls of learnmg 1n hlgh school started on September 8 1953 as we enrolled for our freshman year Thlrty-one students eagerly began to chmb the path to the first plateau gra.duat1on Mr James Holo our class advlsor was called upon to lead the way Lawrence Grant was elected our class pres1dent Other officers were Emelie Berkas vice pres1dent Barbara Brakke secretary and Lowell Thomp son treasurer James Hausmann was selected to be the class lepresentatwe 1n the Student Commcil Having reached the first camp we set out for the second camp on September 7 1954 The climbmg became more diiicult Mrs Oscar Johnson took over the d11t16S of class advisor from Mr Holo The class chose Cordell Korup as pres1dent Allan Gunderson as vice president Margaret Dullum as secretary and Willard Steffen as treasurer New members to the Student Colmcll were Lowell and Lawrence A m1nor setback was received within a few weeks when the juniors gleefully set about to adnumster out 1n1t1 ation Surpassing th1s handlly we went on The expedition of learning set out agam on September 6 1955 Mr Don M1ller re lieved Mrs Johnson as advisor Sharon Ferguson became our pres1dent with LaVonne Peterson vice Resident Marlys B1el secretary and Lawrence treasurer Margaret Lowell Janet Iverson and Lawrence were elected class representat1ves to the Student Council Marlene Bjerke replaced Janet after she left the class Vengeful class mem bers received their chance to 1nit1ate the1r lower classmen and dld an admlrable Job The students lmder the excellent superv1s1on of Mrs Frank Brasel put on three one act plays 'The Uninvlted Ghost The Youngest a.nd French Toast on Apnl 6th annual Jumor Senior Prom Stardust was selected as the theme for the prom wh1ch was held on Saturday May the 5th The final thrust began on September 4 1956 vv1th 29 students partic1pat1ng Mr Harold Rhodes became our class advisor Elected pres1dent was Allan Gunderson w1th Dav1d Mclnnes v1ce-pres1dent Em1l1e Berkas secretary and Barbara Brakke treas urer Student Counc1l members were Marlene Bjerke Lowell Thompson and Margaret Dullum Miss Kay Koermg re1gned over the H1llsboro I-hgh School Homecommg O Baby The Bond Between ' and 'Murders of M1r1am three one act plays were pre sented by the class on Nvvember 16 Mrs Johnson very capably served as dlrector On May 3 1957 we attended with pleasure the Junlor-Senlor Prom We set out on a happy excursion to Mlnneapolxs Mmnesota on the 11th of May as the t1me for the class trlp planned for carefully came Then w1th great expectatxons and great rel1ef the plateau was reached Our diplomas were handed to us on May 24 The exped1t1on has met success The first plateau on the rnountam of life had been reached But It IS only a brxe rest mg place before the climb resumes May all the chmbers reach the top O . . . , , ' . - - 1 . 1 .
