Current Calamities We Seniors, this year, edited our school paper under the nanfe Current Calzni- ities. The name speaks for itself as its news contents are indeed current calam ties. The aim of the staff throughout' the year has been to print more articles dealing with current problems and interests as well as the latest gossipand humor. 'Na printed one issue each month and, instead of appointing a permanent staff, we had a different one each month. That way, each member of the class contributed something to the con- tents of the paper. We wish to thank the teachers-both grade and high school-the students from other classes, and the local business concerns for the willing support they gave us. -Elaine Pederson Excerpts from Current Calamities THE PERFECT SENIOR GIRL The Perfect Senior Girl is now ready for assembly, Throughout the ages of time, man has been searching for the perfect girl. So it is in school. But 'now the search has ended for us, and we have the perfect Senior girl ready to assemble. This is perfection extraordinary-the girl on every Senior boys mind-the Dream Girl of All Times. The directions are simple. Just take the hair ot Eileen, the eyes ot Maxine, the teeth of Muriel, the complexion of Margaret, and the smile ot Eiaihe. Maia these into the, perfect head and face. Now, use the form of Elaine and clothe it with the clothes of Kathryn. Wow! Next into this glamorous object put the brains of Lois H., the musical ability of Phyllis, and 1erry's art ot cheerleading. Next comes the leadership of Elizabeth, the personality ot Flor- ence and Alice B., the ability ot Lois K. to hold her man, the dancing ability ot Jean, the voice of Violet, the humor of Ruth, and the ability of Eila and Emogene to take a joke, Finally, put into her the morals of Alice O., and the meekness of Donna and Florraine, and the travels of Carolyn. Now assemble all these parts together, add the right amount of makeup and, with the prop- er training of a highly intelligent Senior boy, you will have the PERFECT SENIOR GIRL! THE PERFECT SENIOR BOY C'mon, boys! Get in the know! Here's our idea!-from head to toe! Take RusseZl's personaiity and cream well with Dons eyes, Wayne's hair, and Leon's height. Then add a cup.uI of 0liver's smile of trienciship and a tablespoon ot Leonard's side- burns. Next we take Edward's broad shou.ders sitted together with Don's wardrobe. Then add just the right amount of Bobs intelligence, plus Sidney's unlimited vocabulary. Then for the Ilav- or that's good to the last drop, we add Ralph's manners, Lloyd's happy-go-lucky nature and Ger- alds musical qualities. Mix well and let stand overnight. The results will be what we call-THE PERFECT SENIOR BOY! EVOLUTION Freshman-I don't know, Sophomore-I am not prepared. Junior-I don't remember. Senior-I don't think I can'add to what has been said. 1 mf: . vi,

Professor Bhaer iiieralcl Mullerl and ,lo March lEileen Beltzl were on stage. Professor Bhaer wanted Jo to buy a shawl for an old woman and when he reached for his billfold the most startled expression came to his face. l-le excused himself, left the stage, and came rushing back to the rest of the boys in the cast, saying in an excited voice, I forgot my billfold, give me some money! Meanwhile Jo, not know- ing what to do, was pacing back and forth, pretending to cry. Professor Bhaer then came on the stage and said to Jo, lt seems that to my absent mindedness l forgot my wallet, l-le handed her the money and all went smoothly. The audience didn't know anything about it. These are a few ol' the ghastly moments actors have. l am sure you agree that we see why actors are very temperamental. FQ- i, nl, ki V' H1155 4,1 W, ..
