LET'S TAKE A TRIP TO THE MOON Hello! My name is Fate, and I would like to tell you of my recent expedition to the moon and what I found there. After learning of my appointment as first astronaut to the moon, I began searching for my crew. During this time I chanced upon three hobos who were Raymond Smith, Mitchell Bray, and Thomas Clements. They were former astronauts who had orbited Venus and were AWOL on the same mission for three years. But in spite of this fact, I felt these men were just the ones for my crew since they had had some previous experience with travel in outer space. After arriving safely on the moon, I decided to get some new articles of clothing which might help me to better adapt to life on the moon. At the apparel shop, which I later learned was owned by Karen Iahnke, I bumped into Sharon Newman, the leading clothes designer on the moon. Since she was the only clothes designer there, I decided she would have to do. Sharon has just received the latest designs from Paris. Jo Ellen Parker had brought them with her when she came to visit Tommilou Flanigon. They had a good time discussing their school days at Hillsboro High. Jo Ellen inquired as to why Tommilou was on the moon. She said, that after re- ceiving her Ph.D. in Phonics at Indiana University she felt indebted to insanity, I mean humanity, to teach Sarah Webster how to pronounce encyclopedia, since Sarah was now a lawyer and should be well educated. Jo Ellen liked the moon so very much that she decided to stay and teach school. Since I was only on a year's vacation I decided I should move on and see some other sights. I went to the Green Cheese Plateau QOh yes! It has finally been proven to be green cheese.j and there was Jack Downs trying like everything to farm it. Jack stopped his work and talked with me for a while. He seemed to know about many of our classmates. As a matter of fact, Joe Nine and he were farming this section of the plateau together. Jack said that so far as he knew, Tom Nickle was the only one of our class who had not yet made a trip to the moon. Tom was still in Egypt trying to sell the Great Pyramid to any gullible passerby. That night I went to the Moon Derby Night Club, owned by Ryland Wrede, and who but Patricia Berry was singing there. She came over and sat down with me for a while. After a while she began talking about the other people who also worked there. One of them was Patty Philpott. She was Chief Cook and Bottle Washer. The following morning I decided to visit a big missile factory which I had seen in passing the day before. I stopped at the gate to explain whyl would like to enter and lo and behold there was Ronnie Wendall. Since he knew me, he let me go in without ever saying anything. I stopped in front of die main door to read a placque which read something like this: John Donham - President and Secretary, Dennis McManomy - Vice-President and Treasurer. I thought it would be fun to talk to these two classmates of mine, but when I went in I found out this was impossible as they were in Miami Beach, Florida, vacationing. Since I had already seen most of my classmates from Hillsboro High, I decided to start back to my space ship. When I got to the parking lot where I had left it I searched for the attendant with whom I had left my space ship. He was nowhere to be found, but soon another attendant came to my rescue. This attendant was none other than Jerry Holycross. I visited with him for a while and he told me that Ronnie Voorhees also ran a parking lot. Ronnie's parking lot was located at Ghost Holler so I did not take time to visit him. A few minutes after blast offI was sound asleep. It sure is surprising how tired one can get just visiting with old friends. FATE
