' ' J' g ' fit- ,, , G in y f im ,V ?f :wr S yi 1 ig ,f I 4 CLASS PROPHEC Y Looklng through the wlndow of the future to some people 1s shock1ng and sad but to the class of 1957 IS a clear w1ndow of happlness and fame To let the people and classmates know what the famed class of '57 IS domg I am golng to take you to far off places and close places some r1ght here 1n good old H11lsboro To start out we head for Yellowstone Nat1onal Park and there we are led on 2. tour and the gulde tells of each trall and noted place along the Way We thlnk h1s vo1ce sounds fam1l1ar and as we 1nqu1re we find out he IS our old classmate James Arvln now a profes slonal scouter After a few words wlth J1m we dec1ded to go on to our next stop Next we tour some of the southwestern states and acc1dentally run 1nto Don Howard Don IS very happy wlth h1s work He tells us he 1s now a m1ss1onary school teacher and at the present IS teachlng the Cherokee Ind1ans Surpr1s1ngly enough he st1ll has a full head of ha1r Well after saymg good by to Don we head toward the East We reach Indlana and lt sure looks lxke home We dec1de to stop and see J1m Croft who lS runnlng a 400 acre tomato farm J1m 18 very happy he's found a l1ttle tomato that he thmks fllls the basket for hlm We say good by to J1m and head on over to B1ll Cooper's new farm Bxll has an unusual occupat1on he has dec1ded to make hls flrst m1ll1on by m1lk1ng goats don't laugh he lS really happy B1ll has qulte a few l1ttle k1ds runnlng around to keep h1m company Next we stop 1n good old Hlllsboro and whom do we see'7 Why none other than our old classmate Joyce Booe Joyce tells us that she IS marr1ed and has declded to rema1n 1n H1llsboro Joyce IS very happy We w1sh Joyce luck and head on down the street We walk aways and much to our surprise we run 1nto Kay Flmt Kay tells us she has been to Modellng School and has a nlce Job 1n Ind1anapol1s modelmg clothes After we say good to Kay we stop at a cute look1ng Beauty Salon and talk to 1ts owner who IS none other than Lols Summers LOIS IS qu1te happy w1th her new occupatlon and besldes that she has a swell lookmg husband Now we stop at a new home w1th all the modern conven1ences The owner comes runn1ng out to greet us and he IS none other than Joe Ludlow who 1s now a medlcal doctor Even though Joe IS now 1n the money he st1ll dr1ves h1s old Model A Well we say good by to good old H1llsboro and head on East Our fxrst stop IS P1ttsburgh Penn As we are walklng down the streets we happen to run 1nto Larry Myers who tells us he has taken up the profess1on of an electr1cal eng1neer Larry 1nv1tes us to d1nner but we have to be on our way so we leave Plttsburgh and head toward Washmgton D C We hear Beverly Jahnke IS a pr1vate secretary 1n some large f1rm so we start at the b1ggest bu1ld1ng and work our way to the 10th floor and there we f1nd her st1ll pecklng away at her typewr1ter Beverly sald her dream has come true because she has always wanted to be a secretary After say1ng good by to Bev and making our way down we head for the SWaHkl6St dress shop IH town We fxnd our place and there we f1nd Paula Hutch1ns model1ng dresses Paula IS really happy w1th her job and 1s just crazy about her boss No wonder xts her husband We say good by to Paula and head toward Boston to look up Paul R1dge who IS 1n the Coast Guard We f1nd Paul 1nstruct1ng a group of boots and have to walt awhlle to talk to h1m Paul comes out of class 1n h1s whlte unlform sm1l1ng all over as usual Paul tells us that he IS really pleased wlth h1s profess1on And he tells us he 1S not marr1ed yet but he hasn t g1ven up the sh1p We head on down town to a well known hot rod shop We step over apalr of d1rty legs st1ck1ng out from under a souped up rod We heard some klnd of strange lan guage commg from somewhere and we know whose d1rty legs these belong to Well we were r1ght J1m Webster our old classmate IS sure glad to see us but IS too busy to talk long so we let .hm go back to work and we cont1nue on our journey Headmg down toward the good old South we relax because we have a l1ttle txme before gett1ng 1nto Tampa Flor1da We reach our dest1nat1on about noon and head for the largest hosp1tal 1n town There comlng out of the b1g doors IS our classmate Elame Bever Ela1ne IS crazy about Flor1da and 1S sure enJoy1ng her new occupatlon She IHVIISS us out to d1nner but we tell her we have to make one more stop before the long journey back We tell her good by and head toward the Major Leagues sprxng tra1n1ng camps where I get off and have to start tra1n1ng for the commg season I say good by to everybody and w1sh them a safe tru back to good old Hoos1er land and H1llsboro Eddie Bevel. . , . , y - . . , . 1 ' ' o I ' . . . , . . , . -by , . , . - , , . .
