As Hiltop financial advisor, none could surpass her diligent, steadfast, ambitious work. Through her efforts, many of us have had our best memories of high school life preserved in one of the best annuals in the state, the Hiltop. Through their guidance and effort, we are able to produce a book of high quality and interest. Mr. Warmann sees to it that our magazines sales are conducted in an efficient and orderly manner. Under Miss Whitten's supervision, candy and soda pop are sold at games and at school. Miss Whitten also takes care of all the finances of the Hiltop staff. Mr. Zimmerman helps very efficiently at all the dinners served by the Hiltop staff. Advice dealing with the actual production of the book is given under the expert direction of Mr. Cornett. He helps get the book on the road by explaining all the details of editing a book to the present editors. Mr. Cohoon, his able assistant, contributes to the success of the book. ze Sitting: Left to Right: Bonnie Turner, Literary Editor: PatLanthrum, Secretary: Sue Knisley, Co-Editor: George Wilson, Co-Editorg Tom Swarson, Junior Editorg Jim Hallers, Junior Editor. Day by day, page by page, the Hiltop slowly is pieced to- gether. The theme of the book is chosen, analyzed, and then carried out even down to minute details. The color and design of the cover are selected very carefully to win ap- proval by all. Assignments are handed out to the capable literary staff who efficiently write, re-write, proofread, and correct copy. Dead- lines and ccntracts are arranged with engravers and printers. With all our noses to the grindstone, the Hiltop gradually begins to shape up. More work, and more work, and the Hiltop is finally ready to meet those final, last dead- lines. A sigh of relief is breathed over coke bottles but it is easy to see from the finished product that every effort, every minute, and every gray hair was well worth it. i f 5 W'ru'klr1,q 111 ulaguzim' llllllll'-X The financial staff works extremely hard to accumulate the immense amount of money needed to put out the Hiltop each year. Their primary aim is to try to make the yearbook available to all at the most reasonable price possible. The members of this staff con- tribute their time and efforts to such projects as selling candy during the lunch hours and at ball games, serving dinners, and handling the records for magazine sales. The boys got out bats, balls, catchers' mitts, and baseball suits. Every night, they practiced very hard. The sport was somewhat fouled up by rain and soggy fields. Truly, we were Green Freshmen. We had already chosen our subjects for study, and study we did. Homework, well, yes, we got our first taste of homework. Several of us made the honor roll. The activities were many, and all of them were loads of fun. We were not so shy after a month of school had elapsed. We participated in every- thing from messy dances to dressy dances.
