F aculty gngfidfz Busy is the word for her, teaching English I, advising freshmen, and directing the noisy Freshman-Soph- omore Girls' Chorus-that's Miss Beckemeyer. The sophomore boys all swooned when they saw their new English teacher, Miss Lemons. She is shy, yet very capable. Miss Bennett, a versatile teacher, knows her speech as well as English III, and what would the library be without her? Miss Manning gives to the juniors and seniors a keen knowledge of English, and her senior class play is always a hit. Whitten, Adams .fanguaged The efficient Mrs. Wingler certainly can teach the freshmen something new and differ- ent-Latin. She also has a second year class. Plus these, she takes charge of the Girls, Phy- sical Education classes and first hour study hall. To replace German, a new and more popu- lar language, Spanish, has been added to our curriculum this year. Mrs. McCall, who has studied extensively and taught a number of years elsewhere, makes a very competent teacher. 141 THE 1945 HILTOP Beckemeyer, Lemons, Manning Bennett A46-zkelftijiya Teaching plane and solid geometry, aero- nautics, trigonometry, being Hiltop ad- visor, assistant principal, and school treas- urer, Mr. Adams couldn't be guilty of loafing even if he wanted to. His students think a lot of him because he still remem- bers when he was a boy. Having taught in England for one year and having toured much of the continent of Europe, Miss Whitten has many intre- esting stories to tell. Besides teaching ele- mentary and advanced algebra, she is also dean of girls. Wingler, McCall
