if ' v 1 at Mr. Hale Harris-Principal After serving Hillsboro seven years as assistant princi- pal, lVlr. Harris has demonstrated very ably that he has the ability and experience required to take over the ad- ministration of a large high school. His inherent interest in young people has greatly aided him in his duties as principal by giving him an under- standing of the problems of students and a desire to help them with these problems. This interest has also helped him to maintain Hillsboro at its position at the top of Nashville area high schools. Hillsboro has long been known for its high scholastic standards which Mr. Harris is striv- ing to maintain. These standards were formulated and achieved under the long years of leadership of his pred- ecessor, lVlr. John Koen. However, Mr. Harris also supports all extracurricular activities by his attendance at all the athletic contests and his interest in all club meetings. Through all these channels Mr. Harris has helped to make Hillsborois 25th anniversary a first anniversary in a new era of constant striving to improve all the facets of Hillsboro High School.

lVlr. Jack C. Spaulding Assistant Principal Mr. Spaulding also has a long history of service to Hillsboro. For the last fifteen years he has been a member of the Faculty, and before taking over the job of assistant principal which was vacated by Mr. Harris, he also served as the school treasurer. Many students think of Mr. Spaulding as a disciplinarian, but this is not totally his roleg he is also a strong supporter of all activities at Hillsboro. All of his actions, although some may go unappreciated, are in the students, best in- terest. Through his duties as our assistant principal, Mr. Spauld- ing is constantly striving to create at Hillsboro an atmos- phere where the students will enjoy coming to school and will enjoy learning at the same time.
