Commercial Courses Become Backbone of Business World Typing, the most popular business course, had an enrollment of 295 this year. These 295 stu- dents strive to secure not only speed, but accuracy. Shorthand, a method of rapid writing achieved by using certain strange curleques and symbols, is one way in which a student may achieve speed in his writing. GORDON ANDERSON, Commercial NORA LEE CRAVEN, Commercial GRACE PALMER, Commercial Mr. Anderson's bookkeeping classes learn the exact procedures in which to record all the busi- ness transactions of a specific company. Credit, debit, ledger, account balance, and journalizing are just a few of the many terms bookkeeping stu- dents become familiar with throughout the year. Some of these machines are the adding machine, dictaphone, calculdor. dupli- cator, and stencil machine. 3 EL, E Miss Palmer shows her class the operation ot the ditto machine. f' Miss Cravan sets the clock for a timed writing. ,- it X if is ADMiNisTRA'rloN 21
