State Band Award Winners These seniors have gone to state in band in some yeartsl of high school. As fresh- men, four went to state as members of a clarinet choir. They were: L. Cary, J. Carpenter, I. Hynek, and S. Iindrick. Also, L. Cary went to state as a member of a triple trio singing group. As sophomores, thirteen went to state as members of a woodwind choir. They were: S. Allikas, J. Carpenter, L. Cary, K. Fanta, A. Hofmeister, J. Hynek, S. Janecek, S. Jindrick, D. Kouba, L. Kulflarski, I. Novy, L. Sebranek, and I. Sherman. Also, S. Jindrick, and J. Hynek took a clarinet duet to state, and L. Cary took a vocal solo, duet, and was a mem- ber of the triple trio singing group. As juniors, eleven went to state as members of a woodwind choir. They were: S. Allikas, L. Cary, J. Carpenter. A. Hofmeister, J. Hynek, S. Jindrick, D. Kouba, L. Kubarski, I. Novy, L. Sebra- nek, and B. Stepka. Also, L. Cary took a vocal solo, duet, and was a member of a triple trio singing group. This year as seniors, these people and many other members of the band are hop- ing to get to state. Janecek. Not pictured: J. Hynek. The marching band marches in many parades throughout the summer. This year, Mauston, New Lisbon, Royall, and Hillsboro joined together to form a Bi-Centennial Band.
