The Tiger Track team placed 8th in the confer- ence for the 1975 season. It was a year for shattering records. Tim Hubbard broke a school record and was conference champ in the 440 yard run with a time of 53.1 seconds. He also broke a school record in the 880 yard run with a time of 2:08. Bill Postel, a freshman trackster broke a school record in the two mile run with a time of 10:51.3. This is unusual because he didn't run the two mile until the New Lisbon meet. He placed well at New Lisbon, and continued to run the two mile. Later, at the confer- ence meet, Bill broke his own record. Keep on trac- kin' guys! The Hillsboro Golf team swung into action under the direction of Coach Hanna. The golf team devoted much of its time to practice and minor matches as they were a young team. In the confer- ence match they did participate in, they were sixth out of sixteen. The Hillsboro Girl's track team under the direction of Coach Fry, completed a successful 1975 sport sea- son. The girls practiced four nights per week, run- ning inside until the weather outside improved. Gradually, each girl tried to find events in which they were both interested and skilled. The first meet, the test to see if each could last the season, took place on a wet, snowy track. But conditions improved, and the team became a well-knit unit. Girls recognized for their skill and leadership were given the following awards: captain - Kathy Nevsi- mal, most valuable - Mel Boston. The team won three of their six meets, and placed fifth in the con- ference meet. KNEELING: I. Havlik, K. Fitch, D. Myhre. STANDING: Coach Hanna, D. Hammer, J. Sherman, A. Sosinsky, D. Roberts, J. Hofri- chter, I. Novy, K. Kessler.
