Girl's track came into its own this past year via organization, effi- cient scheduling and dedicated officiating. Practices revolved around individual work and dedication, meets were run against a variety of schools and the efficiency of meet managers at most contests made the outlook for girls' track seem limitless for potential growth and success. The 1974 girls' track team members were: Cback rowj D. Roberts, J. Novy, K. Nevsimal, A. Kelbel, L. Revels, M. Kretche, M. McDonald, A. Dolezal, C. Hooker, L. Hammer, L. Cary, Cfront rowj J. GULF The 1974 Hillsboro High School golf team showed promise in a weather-shortened spring season. Hills- boro, led by the crutch-hopping Coach Pat Tangney, finished third in the six-team conference meet and participated in the Richland Center invitational. The team members were Cleft to rightj J. Hofrichter, W. Reidle, R. Peterson, G. Shear, M. Novy, and Coach P. Tangney. In three matches, Hillsboro con- quered Brookwood while suffering two losses to Won- ewoc-Center. -4 R U Hillsboro's 1973-74 Track team had a good year. Some of the high points of the year were the 3rd place finish in the Kicka- poo Relays and the 4th place fin- ish in the Lee Griffen Invita- tional. Outstanding individuals for the year were M. V. P. Gary Picha who placed 4th in the Con- ference in the 220 yd. dash and the long jump in the Regional and Sectional. Capt. Larry Kretche placed fourth in the Conference in the 880 and 5th in the Regional. Scott Kronn placed first In the 180 lows in both the Lee Griffen and the Regional.
