Hillsboro High Schoo Hillsboro, Wisconsin The Senior Class Presents Dedication Opening Pages Faculty Activities Seniors Classes Athletics Organizations Elementary Table Cf Contents In Gratitude . . . As the Senior graduating class of 1970, we would like to take this opportunity to thank every person who has contributed to our education in any way. We would first like to thank our parents . . . They have given us our beginning, they have been our inspiration, and we hope they are proud of us . . . and always will be proud of us. Our teachers also deserve special gratitude. For they have been our ever present guides, the voice of experience, and knowledge, and the foundation of our education. We appreciate the Administration and the School Board. They have provided the needed facilities for our education, set our standards, and given us the opportunity to act as individuals, and as a class. We, the Senior Class, realize we owe a great deal to these people, and many others. Thank you is all we can say. You will always be a part of us . . . A. R. Award DENNIS KOUBA STEVE FANTA The Class Cf '70 - Looking Back We the class of 1970 are proud to be the first class to attend all four complete years of high school in our new building. Entering rather insecurely as freshmen we made the transition from junior high to senior high with the help of our very capable freshman advisors Mrs. Schaller and Mr. Manning. Our first proceedings as a class were to elect our class officers: President Janeen Fantag Vice President Ken Nelson: Secretary Jeanne Dosch: and Treasurer Albert Hooker. Our S. C. representatives were Diana Unbehaun and Mike Sweeney. We were of course tremendously excited about our first Homecoming and elected Jeanne Dosch and Jim Fronk as Homecoming representatives. Our first prom was no exception and Janeen Fanta and Tom Boston represented us. We returned as sophomores confident that we would not make the same mistakes that we had made as freshmen. We had learned much but we had much much more to learn. Guiding us through the year were: President Albert Hooker, Vice President Randy Hynek: Secretary Janeen Fanta: and Treasurer Steve Fanta. Jeanne Dosch and Doug Janousek represented us in student council. We broke in a new set of advisors - Mr. Cary and Mrs. Brady. The outstanding events that year were Homecoming with Jim Fronk and Mary Harris as representatives and ordering our class rings. Our junior year finally came. We were now upperclassmen. President Randy Hynek, with the assistance of Steve Fanta Vice President: Diana Unbehaun Secretary: and Kathy Subera Treasurer, led the class. Continuing tradition we broke in still an- other advisor, Mr. Sippy, to replace Mrs. Brady and assist Mr. Cary. As student coun- cil representatives, we selected Cozette Lawrence and Ken Nelson. In observance of one of the first winning football seasons which Hillsboro had in many years, we honored Cozette Lawrence and Doug Janousek as our representatives at the Homecoming Dance. Throughout the year we prepared for probably the most memorable event of our high school career thus far - our junior prom. Prom weekend finally arrived. We accom- plished our theme, Halfway to Paradise, decorating with emerald green and gold. Our Hawaiian motif was complete with palm trees and pineapples. Our all-junior court was comprised of King Dave Erlandson and Queen Gloria Withrow and representa- tives: Steve Skala and Linda Janousek, Randy Hynek and Kathy Subera, and Doug Janousek and Jenifer Daines. We came back, for the last time, as seniors. Shouldering the responsibilities that accompany the title of senior, we distinguished ourselves in both academics and athletics. Dennis Kouba headed our staff of officers as President. Jerry Steckel Vice President: Kathy Sebranek Secretaryg and Bill Cunningham Treasurer, were his assist- tants. Mr. Cary and Mr. Sippy were again our class advisors for the second year con- secutively. Following an all-school election Albert Hooker was selected as president of the S. C. Don Slamanand Jenifer Daines were elected to represent the seniors at the same time. Then came Homecoming 1969. After building and burning the bonfire, winning first prize on our float, and losing the football game, King Mike Sweeney and Queen Mary Harris reigned over the Homecoming festivities. The rest of our senior year was occupied with such things as a Christmas play, senior class play, annual dead- lines, and class trip. Our high school careers culminated with our graduation in May. In the halls of H. H. S. our footsteps are silent. Because we also have many fond and unforgetable memories that out-weigh less enjoyable sides of this production. And we wou1dn't trade these memories for anything!!
