Prom 1 964 The enchanted evening we had all been waiting for arrived on April 17, 1964. The auditorium stood dressed and waiting. Dancing blue and white streamers across the ceiling set the Hawaiian mood. Bamboo booths and a green island added to the set- ting. On stage colored lights illuminated ashimmering array of ocean creatures. Then the magic moment: Dolores Kolowrar was crowned Queen by Sally Dechant, Leo Fronk became King of the 1964 Prom as Roger Stanek placed the crown on his head. The strains of Some Enchanted Evening our theme, played by Bobby Lori and his orchestra, lead the Grand March, The crown bearers, Donnie Hammer and Terry Byington, followed by the royal couple wound their way through the auditorium as the captivated audience watched. In the march, Roger Stanek and Sally Dechant, King and Queen of the 1963 Prom: Russell Daines and Janis Hansbery, the Senior representativesg Steven Daines and Paula Clark, the Sophomore representatives: along with Curtis Marshall and Patricia Braithwaite, the Freshmen representatives followed in stately fashion. As the march progressed other hand- somely attired couples joined in the festivity. The evening sped on and soon the music and dancing was over, but the memories were just beginning.
