The theme song of the Prom was Three Coins In A Fountain. The gym was decorated in an Italian mode with a fountain of running water, glittering tinfoil and lights. The punch bowl mounted on an Italian cart and a canopy carried out the mode farther. The prom color theme was red and white. Our handsome King Don Mitchell chose pretty Myrna Strait for his Queen. Other members of the royal court were last year's King and Queen, Arnold Urban and Patricia Vogt, Senior Representatives, David Hammer and Marta Hofmeisterp Sophomore Representatives, Marvin Havlik and Darlene Slaback, and Freshman Representatives, Robert Mc lntyre and Carol Braithwaite. The charming crownbearers were Dennis Hallingstad and Mary Sebranek, who wore small crowns imitating the King and Queen. Music for the Prom was furnished by Howard Kenny and his band of Madison. To the faculty, the teachers who worked for and with us through our four long years of high school, we wish to leave a lasting remembrance that will forever hold a little spot in their hearts and---a Thank You , we made it after all! PROPHECY Dear Diary, I am so thrilled, I have just won 35, 000 on the Green for Go Lipstick Contest. With this I have decided to visit ' all my old classmates from the class of '57, So, I took off in my D-36 one passenger plane. My first stop was in Glue City, Nebraska, where JOHN SHIELDS was prospering with a Glue Factory on the Retirement for Old Horses Plan, John's wife, JEANNE SUBERA, former bubble dancer has helped make quite a success of this business. In fact, she has even designed a dress of glue, a real sticker , for RITA STANEK, shimmery dancer . Rita works for the club El Sanford, the owner is DICK SANFORD, who won the club in a crap game. While dining and dancing in the club I noticed LOMA LIND dancing with her latest husband. They just returned from Paris where Loma was awaiting a divorce from her eighth Mistake . Course he doesn't speak a word of English but then, they say Love is Blind ! I then got a scoop that BERNARD IELINEK runs a bootlegging still in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Kentucky. I was on my way out for a visit, but didn't make it that far as I stopped at the Hermit Hut of Mr. and Mrs. Ebenezer, MIKE Scrooge JELLEY. I know he was bad in high school, but when I saw his former lovely wife, now haggard from overwork, MYRNA STRAIT, Holding a penny while he pinched it Well that was too much, I knew I couldn't get a night's lodging there! So, I went into town to make accomodations at a hotel. Imagine my surprise when I walked through the doors slipped on a bar of soap and slid smack into MARCELLA BENISH, scrub lady there. Her husband, JACK GEDDES, is a janitor in the same establishment. Well, after a visit with them, I decided I'd look around town and case the joint. Good Godfrey! I saw a downtown billboard that JAMES The Egg NOVACI-IEK was giving a demonstration on his famous egg recipes at the local auditorium. I was planning on attending, but I ran into another old classmate, DON MITCHELL, who invited me to go fishing at his man-made lake where he raises whales. After spending my weekend of fishing with Don I decided I'd bug out and buzz down to Florida. I'd heard that HOWARD MILLER was opening his Barber Shop, after remodeling it in a new ultra-modern fashion. Howard has been throwing away all his old, big razors, as he has a fine collection of little shavers. I went out to check at the Air Force Base to see if my plane had been repaired. There I ran into SANDRA ELLIS, a general in the Wac Corps now. Sandy has a great time making eyes at LARRY CLARK. We're so proud of Larry ---- in another week, he'll be promoted to Private First Class, after eight years as a recruit. Sandy told me that a former classmate, MARY KOUBA, is now singing with the Metropolitan Opera, All we can say is the Metropolitan Opera isn't what it used to bel I During my week in Florida I ran into RONALD JELINEK, who also runs a clip joint , qbarber Shopj. Ron's In fine shape. Too bad I can't say the same for his customers. While I was in his shop I ran into BEN FILTER, another old classmate Ben, who has traded in his Elvis cut for a Yul Brynner look was trying to sell Ronald a few of his Hair for Wear Toupe's. While visiting with Ron and Ben for awhile I found our that BARBARA PHILLIPPI, SHARON SUBERA, and KAREN VITCENDA were having a showing of their latest dress creations in New York. The Phillippi-Subera-Vitcenda brand is now a house- hold word. I also discovered that JOANNE SANDERS is working for them as the head accountant. MARY HORA and DARLENE HAVLIK are working for them as the head of the seamstress department. Their motto: A stitch in time, saves nine. Well I went back to the base and as I was heading for my plane, I bumped into SHIRLEY OUINN, an airline stewardess, and knocked her off her elevator shoes. Shirley has to wear these as she does not quite meet the heighth requirement. I also saw BARBARA PLINER, a famous author now, whose latest novel, Strawberries in December , sold over 10,000 copies. Just as I was taking offl was fortunate to catch a glimpse of our glamorous movie star, CAROL FAWCETT, Although, I didn't get a very good look at her as she was hidden behind a three- foot cigarette holder. Carol is taking off for location of her next picture, Fagsies at Dawn . Yes, some of our classmates have really advanced. Especially our girls. BARBARA FANTA has a beauty shop now--for men only. DONNA BURCHELL works as Miss Fanta's manicurist. And the next thing I knew I was flying over NELSON'S Peak, The only mountain in the world where the grass is kept mowed. And lookl There's MIKE on top with his lawn mower, waving! Well, all at once my plane started swerving and I had to make an emergency landing. After I was on the ground I investigated the strange weight that caused me to land. It was' none other than an old classmate of mine, RONNIE SUBERA, a professional bum. After talking with Ronnie, I persuaded him into going back to his wife, MARY STERBA and their nineteen children. After this little accident I was about to hop into my plane, and who should I see but JoANN GOODMAN running across the field with her butterfly net. JoAnn has become one of the most noted butterfly catchers in the world. And next thing, I was in the air again. Crazy fool! What happened as I was soaring throught the heavens. There went those dare-devils again in their super express--WAYNE JaDOUL and PAUL HOTEK. The next thing I saw was a big sign ---- The PARKER-MCCOIC-FISKE Matregs Company. l decided I'd land and look around. NORMAN, FRANCIS, and DARREL are three of the richest men in the world --While browsing around who should I run into, but FRANCIS PRESLIK their chief mattress tester. Francis told me, between snores, that he first got his inspiration for this job in Social Problems class back in his High School days. Well, I then received a tip that Rags to Riches , the LEROY JANOUSEK was having a big partv in Corpus Christi, Texas. Leroy got his fortune by striking oil one day as he was digging graves! in the Corpus Christi cemetery, where he was a caretaker. I then flew to a small town in Texas. I looked around town a little and bought 'a newspaper, And on the front page there was a story on two of my old classmates, LARRY CEPEK and FRANCIS NOVACHEK. It seems they are having a battle over whether or not the Einstein Theory is- correct. As I made my way down main street who should I run into but JUDY CLARK and LEONA REVELS. They told me they are both working for the Be Kind to Old Teacher's Association. Other than this, dear Diary, I guess I visited almost all my classmates. Except for GARY VAN ENKEVORT, BOB SEBRANEK, AND JAMES SHERMAN. It seems they took off on a rocket ship to the moon. We can only guess what they have been doing--but I'll bet they'll give those mountains a rough time. Well, Diary, I think we've made a success of this prophecy- -aren't we lucky no one knows who wrote -it?
