CLASS HISTOPY Freshman Year In the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-eight, forty-five 'Freshles' walked through the old doors of Hillman High, learning the new and awkward procedure. Many of the kids liked it while some d1dn't care at all and quit during the year. Our freshman initiation was the main event of this year. We looked 'silly' but it was a day we won't forget. Next we had our class elections. Our choice was for the following: President Marlon Bartowg Vice President Bert LaFlecheg Secretary Jean Chapmang Student Council Representative Richard Herrlckg Treasurer Arlene Foxy and Student Council officers: Secretary Jean Orm. In October the annual Carnival took place and ve picked Verla Fls e as our Queen and Lowell Elowsky as the King We orked hard with ou sponsor, Mrs Living We lost The freshman put on an essembly for the school which was a big hit Students lost during the year we e Wesley Eagle Delores Nickerson Evelyn rreyly Earnest Walling and Jack James Sophomore Yea? Taking roll after the summer months, our sponsor Vlss Gntrell found many empty se t fhose missing were, Jean orm, Bertha Figh Doris Farnsworth Marie Ca lson Pat Richmond Fred Shepherd This was a year the Sophomore class d1dn't have much to plan for but we had a lot of fun and chose the king and queen Dick Ferrick and A lene Fox, seems we worked hard but d1dn't make it Our officers ve e President Bert LaFleche Vice President Lovell Elowsky Secretary Bessie Nickerson Treasurer Arlene Fox Student Council Representative Marlon Bartow We gained one new student, Judy Carter In the spring we ordered our class rings We lost the following pupils during this year Ve la 'isher Clarence Connon Donald Fobinson Jim O'Ne1l and Albert Kesteloot Junior Year Our biggest and most thrilling year was ahead of us sith a lot of wo to phow through With ble ideas we got underway with President Lo ell Elowsky Vice President Fichard Be rick Sec etary Elaine eichle T essu er Vert LaFleche Student Council Pepresentatiges Marlon Bartow Student Colncil officer Vice President Arlene Fox In the fall we received ou c ass rings obe was Ca n' 1 m again wi n a lot of hope we cho e Janice Badgero as Queen and Be t La'lech as King With ou sponsor Tuller, something happened and me again los Still another ye and we had patitnce A ril we had our Junior Play 'Huckelberry Finn' under the dl ect'on or the finest and best director our class coxld have, V s Livin She helo us to make the practices a lot of fun and the play a big success we sta te h o' H o is n 'J' Poo was held on Way 10, 1951 Blue and Sllve was chosen as class colo s and ve used them along vith the these 'Blue Voon The hall was deco ated with lamps on the valls and a big sllve moon was at one end ot the oom Foe o cnestra, 'The Banch Fands', as nlaced in the middle of the floor and couples danced a ound H o eeks e Junior and senior Banoue was held at St Johns Lu he n Chu c ofston the deco atlons of both class colo s, Blue and Dilv and Bla ol , a delicious Chicken Dinner vas se ved to both classes and facu' e en phases of the the e song 'po Long I s Been Good Do Yno we e hea around the oom Graduation time came and the Juniors participated in he exe else Students los du ing the year ve e not too man , Just one Bows d VanVolkenburg A ' - , h r ' 0 - .
