Therefore, we, the class of '59 gratefully dedicate our Memory's Trail to the people of the community of Hilliards. May we express our appreciation to the Board of Education for their foresight and planning which made possible for us to enjoy the modern facilities of our new high school. This helped to make our last year a memorable one. SEATED, Left to Right: Basil Johnson, Leon Bowman, Ned Woodruff, Virgil Hart, Margret Michael, Grace Tharp, and Fred Daniel. Brenda R. 29 CLASS OF '59 HISTORY As Freshmen we entered the portals of a strange new world with a feeling of fright and insignificance. To lead us through the first year, we elected the following officers: President, Steve Seigfriedg Vice- President, Sharon De Wolfeg Secretary, Linda Shaw, and Treasurer, Sophie Phares. In our Sophomore year our feeling of fright was gone and our feeling of insignificance began to dwin- dle. We realized that the next year was to be the Junior-Senior Prom and we were determined to have a good one. We chose the following officers who did a splendid job of leading us through the. year. President, ,T ack Lomanog Vice-President, Pat O'Harag Secretary, Jean Grenerg Treasurer, ,Tim Dowell. We under- took many projects to raise money for the up-coming prom. We sold Christmas Candles and Corsages, ball point pens, and shakers. We had two dances, two bake sales, a booth at the Halloween carnival, and a slave drive which went over very big. Also during our Sophomore year we met Mr. Daniels, the new Superintendent of Scioto Darby Local Schools, who led not only us but the entire school system very ably. To start off our Junior year we met Mr. McFadden, our new principal, who did a fine job of leading and helping us and the whole school. Being upperclassmen now, we selected these officers to guide us through an all important year: President, J' ack Lomanog Vice-President, Sharon De Wolfe: Secretary, Nancy MoCrackeng Treasurer, .Tim Dowell We also received our class rings to add to our feeling of im- portanoe. Throughout the year we kept thinking of our Junior-Senior Prom. Our first big project of the year was the Junior class play, Don't Take My Penny . It was a very successful play. This year again we sold candles, had dances, and had a booth at the Halloween Carnival. Finally in May we had our prom. It was held at the Veteran's Memorial Building and the theme was, Street in Paris. It was a memorable and unforgettable experience for us all. Seniors at last! What an exciting year with so many new experiences. 'I'he first new thing is our brand new high school. It is a beautiful building and we all are very proud of it. Another new experience was the addition of Ivan, The Terrible. He is the new printing press for the Wildcat. What a stubborn creature! At first he never did anything right, but then after some patience and understanding, on our part, he came through. The New Wildcat has beenenjoyedbyeverybody. Wlth graduation as our goal we chose our class officers. President for the third consecutive year was Jack Lomano. Vice-President, Philip Russellg Sec- retary, Linda Mcvayg Treasurer, Bob Boughton. 'I'he Junior-Senior Prom was held in the new gymnasium and it was a glorious occasion for us all to remember. That's our history of the years which we, the class of '59, believe the most wonderful of our lives. BEEP, BEEP ZOOOOOOOMIIIH This is Satillite Sam coming to you from inside Professor ROBERT BOUTHTON'S new space ship the IRM. Professor BOUGHTON has invited his 1959 high school graduating class to celebrate their tenth anniversary by taking their first trip to the moon. Upon examining the guest list, Professor BOUGHTON'S secretary, LINDA MC VAY found that all the members of the class are present and ready for the trip. First I am going to interview some ofthe class members who helped Professor BOUGHTON make the trip possible. I have just entered the control center andI am getting the attention of the head pilot, BILL BOGGS, and his assistant, DAVE FOGLE. Mr. Boggs, what are the weather predictions for the flight? No meteors in sight! Now I am going i.nto the ship's swank kitchen where I am observing the head dietition, SALLY MOR- RIS, and her assistants, DONNA EDWARDS, GENEVA SIDERS, JANET WILLIS, and BRENDA RIGSBY, finishing the last minute preparations for lunch. With them is DARRYL MONTGOMERY, the chief meat cutter. Before lunch I am going to interview a few of the passengers, some of whom haven't seen each other since graduation. Coming up to the first seat, I over hear a young woman talking politics. I see by her name card that she is NANCY MC CRACKEN, first woman president of the CIO. Sitting beside her is ,TACK LOMANO, president of a Non-Union organization. These two are in deep conversation so I will go on to the next seat. In the next seats, are two more members of the class, SHARON DE WOLFE and ROGER PRITCHARD. They are comparing ribbons and-discussing the past worlds olympic games. Do you have any comments to make about the trip so far? Yes, we can hardly wait to get there because we have made arrangements to meet the Moon men in a contest of great strength. Moving to the other aisle, I see PENNY PRINTZ, whol found out is planning to establish a Red Cross Fotmdation on the moon. Sitting beside Miss Printz is EDSON KIDWELL, manager of the Local Looney Lonely Hearts Club. I am now on one of the ship's escalators going down to the elaborate swimming pool to interview some of the people who are taking a dip before lunch. In charge of the general maintenance of the pool is PAT O'HARA. Relaxing under one of the ultra violet lamps is the four-time winner of the Mr. America contest, KENNY ADKINS. Doing some of his stunt diving off the high board is JIM WEAVER. Oh, Jim have you anything to say? GLUB. Looking around the water I see four of the world's great swimming champions. Doing some of their famous syncronized swimming is NANCY MERE, BONNIE MC FARLAND, MARY LOU ROGERS, and LYNDA DENMAN. Hearing the ten minute warning bell, everyone rushes out of the pool to prepare for lunch. Stubbing his toe getting out of the pool isJ'ERRY RICHARDSON, inventor of a new candy bar that melts in your hands instead of your mouth. ' Upon entering the exclusive dining room we hear the music of JIM BOSTIC andhis Starlighters. Helping Jim out with the entertainment is WANDA BROWN, showing everyone the new dance step called the Marsian Mombo. Mingling among the guests, I stop at one table where MARTY DAVIS, who is head of a nation-wide chain of bowling alleys, is talking over old times with PHILIP RUSSELL, a salesman of Mother Fletcher's Cheese P roducts. Sitting across the table are JOYCE FOUTY and CARMELIA PROVENZALE, who are taking time off from their new horror picture Miss Dracula Meets Old Mother Hubbard, in which they have the lead DSHS. Moving to another table I see JIM DOWELL, who is now owner of Studebaker Incorporated, talking to his faithful vice-president, RONNIE DRESSELL. Also at that table are two famous surgeons: RICHARD HUMPHRIES, aFingernail surgeon, and STEVE SIEGFRIED, a Tree surgeon. Assisting them with their research projects are their favorite nurses, MARY GREEN and JOANNE SPRINGER. Across the floor I see that famous dime store model LOIS MORRIS, giving a fashion show. Some of the world's famous models that are helping her-are, JUDY KRAMER, INA BROWN, DORIS GRAY, and NADINE SPARKS. Also helping Miss Morris is that famous TV star for toothpaste commercials, SUZI WELTZHEIMER. Another famous TV personality is JEAN GRENER, who is narrator of Kiddie Kartoon Korner. Watching her creations being modeled, is dress designer, CONNIE FARNSWORTH. Two other people watching the style show with great interest are two famous midget auto drivers, PERRY BALL and RON PLYMALE. Any comments boys? IIDLEH ll I am now going up to the control center where the head pilots are preparing to stop at GLENN WINE- GARNER'S space station to refuel. Helping Glenn at the station are his helpful assistants, DON JOHNSON, CHESTER MC CANN, NORMAN BOHLEN, and BILL CARL. Back here in the ship, the passengers are settling down in their seats after the delicious lunch. I am going up and down the aisle trying to find people I have not yet interviewed. Sitting together are two representatives from the UN, CARYL CARPENTER and SUE JOHNSTON. Would you like to say anything about the trip so far? well .... Thank You. Moving on I see Cadet First Class, CHARLENE FOX, the first girl ever to be admitted into West Point. Next to Charlene is WAYNE LEWIS, the most valuable player in little league baseball. Sitting in front of them are four famous explorers, VIVIAN DE BERRY, MARY CAMERON, PAT VON DRISKA, and EVA LEE VANOVER, who have just returned from a big kangaroo hunt in Australia. What are you planning to do with your catch? We're plamiing to open a kangaroo boxing show on the moon, of course! I am now entering the main lounge and behind the ice cream counter I see two soda jerks, CAROL OPP and SOPHIE PHARES. These girls are the co-owners of a widely known drug store. Looking around the room I see a mature looking red head, and I see that it is EDDIE GOLDHARDT, who is publisher, editor, and writer, of that famous magazine, True Romances. Sitting around a large table talking shop are the prosperous farmers of the class, RONNIE WELLS, PHIL RENNER, NORMAN KING, EUGENE FLUCK, and ROGER CRAMER. In the midst of the crowd is RICHARD KULHWEIN, passing out his latest blends of chewing tobacco. He, by the way, owns a large tobac- co plantation. Walking across the room, I see two young men who have just opened a million dollar a week Chevro- let Automobile Corporation. These boys are FRED BOWMAN and GARY SCHLEICH. Is there anything you'd like to say? See the USSR in your Chevrolet car! Standing in the corner practicing their latest songs is the new singing rage, The Four Basses , VICTOR STEWART, DON WENDELL, LYNN ROOSE, and GARY RHODES. Well folks that concludes my interview with the members of the great graduating class of 1959. I would like to express my sincere congratulations and wish them a very happy reunion trip.
