DEDICA TION Mr. Albert Cray, assistant chairman and photography advisor of the Elin Treev, graduated from New Haven High School in 1922. Following his gradua- tion, he was employed at the Millers Falls Tool Company as a chief draftsman, during which time he attended night classes at Northeastern University. In 1925, Mr. Gray began his teaching career at Troup junior High School as an instructor in mechanical drawing. He was also head of the swimming club at Troup..Mr. Cray came to Hillhouse in 1932 to teach mechanical drawing and to coach the varsity swimming team. He has been associated with photography in the classbook since 1949 and has been assistant chairman since 1953. Mr. Gray established a working photography club, which does everything from taking pictures to developing them here in school. No one who has ever been a visitor to Mr. Cray's room has escaped without a certain amount of friendly banter. His sense of humor, mixed with his common sense, has sustained us of the Elm Treev staff during many trying times. When- ever a situation seemed unsolvable. Mr. Gray would help with a cheerful word, or on many occasions, with the obvious but theretofore unseen solution. His work has gone beyond that demanded of him in his capacity as assistant chairman and photography advisor of the Elm Treeu. And so, with our heartfelt thanks, we dedicate this book to you, Mr. Cray, hoping that we can convey to you, through this book, our deep appreciation.
