Girls' Block H Club Sponsors Mony Activities A - ,'--'-- f Q- Girls' Block H Club members are, FRONT ROVV, LEFT TO RIGHT: Becky Davis, Linda Long, Polly Garrett, Cathy Buchanan, Phyllis Riddle, Carolyn VVebb, Donna Clark, Dale Reeves, Jeanette Minkler, Jeannie Johnson. SECOND ROYV: Bitsy Cimningham, Gerry Coates, Pat Smith, Sandra Harvey, Ann Thackston, Linda WVeaver, Brenda Pepple, Ioan XVoodlief, and Susan Hicks. The big project of the Girls' Block H Club this year was planning and carrying out the many activities during homecoming. The members gaily decorated the cars in which the homecoming attendants rode and planned the half-time festivities which took place during the homecoming game. The club sponsored the election of cheerleaders and a dance after a football game. They also headed Girls' Block H Club officers, Carolyn VVebb, president, Cathy Buchanan, vice presidentg Becky Davis, secretary, Phyllis Rid- dle, treasurerg and Susan Hicks, reporter, admire sports trophies. 76 the decoration committee for the XVestern AA Basket- ball Tournament held at Hillcrest in February and held an initiation party for new members. In order to become eligible for membership in the Girls, Block H Club, a girl must have received a block H letter through participating in girls' varsity sports. MRS. JEAN SHERRON Sponsor

Eighty-five students. the largest number in the history of Hillcrest, are members of the Beta Club. This national honorary club is a means of honoring students in American high schools for their social, scholastic, and moral efforts and accomplish- II1CI'lfS. The highlight of Beta Club activities this year was the Beta Club Christmas Ball held on December 14 in the Hillcrest cafe- teria. New Beta Club members were formally inducted into the club and received their Beta Club pins and certificates during this festive affair. MRS.
