Traffic Force Enforces Lows of Good Conduct The Traffic Force staff under the direction of Col. Francis Smith and Mr. Dick Hamby, assists the admin- istration by enforcing policies concerning student con- duct in the halls, cafeteria, and other school areas. VVhen Hillcrest students returned to school last Sep- tember, they were presented copies of The Hillcrest High School Student Handbook, made possible through the efforts of a hard-working student council. The hand- book includes remarks by Principal H e n r y P. Bennett, the list of student body officers, a calendar of events, a list of fees, a daily schedule, the program of studies, the student activities, the rules and regulations, the student conveniences, the constitution of Hillcrest High School, the awards and honors, and the alma mater. The student council, which has been in operation only two full years, is a member of the National Asso- ciation of Student Councils, the South Carolina Associ- ation of Student Councils, and the Greenville County Inter-School Council. lean McClure, secretary-treasurer of the Hillcrest High student body, is secretary of the Greenville County Inter-School Council. Representatives from the Hillcrest student council attended district work- shops held during the year. The student council sponsored a project at Christ- mas to aid Hillcrest maintenance personnel.
