Through the years we'll try to always hold thy laurels hign Did you ever stop to think why we have clubs at Hill- crest? At first glance they might seem to take away from class time and to be a hindrance to complete devotion to study. But take a closer look. In joining a club we choose one that deals with a sub- iect in which we are interested. Thus we are with people who enioy the same activities we do, and together, we can ad- vance in the area best suited to our own personalities. We learn to co-operate with others, and to share in responsibility. This is important to anyone, for in life the ability to co-operate and the ability to receive co-operation are absolutely neces- sary. Being a responsible person goes hand in hand with this. Leadership is another quality which we develop which is closely related to the others. All of these qualities-interest, desire to advance, co- operation, acceptance of responsibility, leadership-combine to make up a high standard for the student of Hillcrest and a high standard of living for the future. Now, perhaps we can better understand the value of our clubs and gain the fullest benefits from them. Then we will be able to say, Through the years we'll try to always hold thy laurels high.
