fl HH? GBZIZIAIIIPI A good man out of the ,good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things. Saint Matthew 12:35 Mr. Henry P. Bennett was such a man. He pos- sessed the firmness of the soldier, the tact of the true diplomat, the virtue of the Christian gentleman. He needed all of these quali- ties in his work as the first principal of Hillcrest. 1 To consolidate three in- dependent schools into one was not easy, but Mr. Ben- nett was the right man for the task. He made consoli- dation work so well that patrons, teachers, and stu- dents respected and loved him for it. It seems espe- cially appropriate to say of him, Blessed is the peaco- maker: for he shall sec' God. Hillcrest will stand as a living monument to the memory of this good man.
