There's a spot in Carolina Where the foothills lie - There our noble Alma Mater Stands against the sky. Alma Mater, thou will ever Live in memory. H ere's to thee! Here's to thee, O Years from now when we are remembering our high school days, what will come to our minds? Certainly we will recall our class- mates and friends, and the activi- ties and parties. Yet we will also think of our teachers for they are the center of our school. They rep- resent the purpose of any educa- tional institution. This purpose is to bestow knowledge. As is true with friends, we will be reminded of one teacher above another. Maybe it will not be pos- sible to picture her face, and per- haps we will not even know her name, but as we look back, we Hill crest High School will realize how she helped to build our character and guide our lives on the right course. The memory of a friend some- how fades as time passes, but a teacher stays with us in every act we perform. Each day we use knowledge that a teacher some- where has studied, acquired, and then given to her students. Hillcrest has been fortunate in having a fine teaching staff since the beginning in 1957. As we think of our faculty let us remember them with love and gratitude. Surely they have been true to us. May we always be true to them. , we'll be true to thee Sv l 9
