With the supervision of their spon- sor, Miss Martha Ann Wells, Anchor Club offered its support in fund-rais- ing activities such as the Cancer Drive, and also aided the Highlanders in selling candy to raise money for their trip to Washington, D. C. Key club is fund raiser Key Club members were found throughout the halls of Hillcrest in their familiar role of selling ribbons which aroused school spirit and aided the finances for other clubs. Key Club members didn't stop there, but went on to help the com- munity by delivering Christmas baskets to the needy and Easter lilies to shut-ins. They aided in many fund- raising drives such as the Cancer Drive and the Heart Drive. Key Club was a service organiza- tion With members chosen on the basis of personality, scholastic ability, and community citizenship. Officers were Terry Dykes, president, Chris Fortner, vice-presidentg Dan Stock- still, secretaryg and Randal Shank, treasurer. Sponsors were Mr. Neal Grubaugh and Mr. Carl Locke.

A.F.S. members welcome foreign exehan e student American Field Service Interna- tional's 75 members pitched in to help foreign exchange student Antonio Cefala' to adjust his life to a new home and experience. Setting its goals at becoming ac- quainted with other A.F.S. students in Springfield, the club began to ful- fill these goals by having a social get together for A.F.S. students. The club members united in selling Christmas cards and took a step fur- ther to make Antonio's stay a long remembered one by purchasing him a Hillcrest Highlighter. With Mrs. Dorothy Lilly, Mrs. Au- drey Bridges, Miss Mary Beth Peter- son, Mr. Lowell Pyle, and Miss Vir- ginia Thomas as sponsors, A.F.S. made its mark in the history of Hill- crest. Christy Stockard, president, Rox- anne Bedell, vice-president, Danny Stiver, secretary, Tammy Self, Adult Chapter Liaison, and Sheree Apple- by, treasurer, were the officers cho- sen to serve the club this year.
