It has more modern conveniences for uptoedate living than any other junior high. We have grown from 566 cool kittens to 919 cool cats. We have some of the most crazy items, like an accordion door between the girls' and boys' gyms, radiant heating on the lobby floor, conference rooms, and the coolest type of public address system. These items and many more help to make Hill THE GREATEST! -me-ef1W o2g Q X 'G':w -52,9 0

Roscof: C. HILL l ill This ends Hi11's first neat year, and with it we cool cats have dug many other firsts cmd started the ball rolling on many traditions. There was that first cr-r-r-r-A-zy 9-A play, that hepped-up track meet, cmd the sharp Mother-Daughter tea: and man. like we picked school colors, an emblem, and drew up a constitution, which was the most to say the least. This was a sly year, too, because the first lot of cool cats is graduating to rock-and- roll on to high school: and the scrubs, who began this year, will be the first rods to go all the way through Hill. The high spot of this first year landed on March 20 when our school was coolly dedicated to a man who was the greatest during his time with the Denver schools. He was the top magoo of East High for many years, and now has the utmost honor of his Iohn Henry on this keen, new school. Because Hill was consecrated this first year, and because this is our first spectac Liber Anni, we are dedicating it to the greatest, the most, the coolest, Roscoe C. Hill.

MISS LILIAN SCHULTZ Miss Lilian Schultz, a native Coloradoan, attended public schools in Arvada. After get- ting her BA. at the University of Denver, she taught chemistry, physics, and math in Wal- senburg. In 1945 she taught biology at East High School. She became Dean of Girls at Hill in 1956. Miss Schultz' favorite pastime isn't sports, but she does enjoy basketball once in a while. Her hopes .for Hill are indefinite, but she thinks it does have a promising future. MR. ALVIN YORDY Mr. Alvin Yordy was transferred from his job as principal of Iohnson Elementary School to replace Mr. Sam Waldman, who is now principal at East High and who got Hill off to such a good start last semester. Mr. Yordy grew up in Illinois and attended Bethany College in Kansas, after which he did graduate work at the University of Kansas to earn his Master's degree. He also studied at the University of Iowa and here at Denver University. Teaching first in Illinois, then Kan- sas, where he was principal of a senior high, Mr. Yordy then came to Denver where he was assigned to teach at Cole Ir. High. He has since been principal at Swansea, Mitchell, and Iohnson elementary schools.
