After the snows and ice of the coldest winter on record, the year ended in a packed and sweltering gym as one hundred and six sophomores from both cam- puses received their degrees and certificates to the strains of Pomp and Circum- stance and the flutter of improvised fans. Dr. Donald Anthony, Vice-president in Charge of Student Affairs at Texas Eastern University, delivered a graduation ad- dress which emphasized the idea that education is a life-long process. The cere- mony also honored Renee Dollar, who finished her years at H.I.C. with a perfect four-point average, and Iacque Carmichall, this year's recipient of the Chamber of Commerce Citizenship Award.
