'ii 'IIN 11 CLASS HHST R Twelve years ago sixteen shy little kids walked into Hill City School to begin a twelve year career there. Miss Gloria Doody was their teacher. when these kids advanced to the second grade, they were joined by wayne Caster from Keystone and Ronnie Edwards moved to California. Mrs. Laura Bloom was their teacher that year. In the third grade Mrs. Lolamaude Nutchell and Miss Jane Cahoon were their teachers. The class remained the same. As they progressed to the fourth grade they were rejoined by Ronnie Edwards and acquired Louis Wood from Rapid City. Bob Benton left to go to Deadwood and Ben McDonald left for wessington. That year they had sixteen teachers. In the fifth grade they were again joined by Bob Benton. Mrs. Virgil Selix was their teacher. The class acquired another new pupil in the sixth grade, Dorothy DeNeu1 from Illinois. Mrs. Carol Belle Nelson was the teacher. As seventh graders, these kids were part of the new Junior High School and advanced to the upstairs rooms. They were joined by Jim and Ruby Knudsen from Nemo and Lynn Hedger from Texas. Wayne Caster left. The eight grade remained the same only they were back to the lower grade rooms with Mrs. Mabel Wallin as teacher. They completed grades with 11 pupils. As green freshmen and so-called big shots, the class was joined by Bob Albery from Hermosa and Pat Curry from Keystone. Dean Dills joined in the middle of the year from Bradley. Mrs. Martha Lovegren was class sponsor. In their sophomore year, they were joined by Frank Zwetzig of Keystone, Jackson Ashcraft of Kennebec, and wayne Caster returned from Custer. Mrs. Lovegren was again their class sponsor. when they advanced to their junior year and became upper- classmen they were joined by Carl Halsted from Spearfish and Ben McDonald from Miller. Barbara Morris left for Ft. Worth, Texas and Bob Albery left for Custer. They again had Mrs. Lovegren for sponsor. In their senior year and the starting of the end of a twelve year career at HCHS they were again joined by Barbara Morris and Bob Albery, and Mrs. Lovegren was the class sponsor. They have now reached the end of the journey with eight of the beginners still here. They are Donna Mitchell, Donna Johnson, Ben McDonald, Jerry Simpson, Delores Law, Ronnie Edwards, Barbara Morris, and Bob Benton. As they reach the end they llsh all the students the good luck and success they have had here at good ole HCHS. i w Q 7' ' Qu :X . 0 L or Q 2 K ' 5' - .,..-Nl www' f - - . .
