in m iWlBUl HILDKt I n Hildreth's Future Problem Solving teams participated in a series of very interesting problem solving events in the 1985-86 school year. Their first problem dealt with en- dangered species. Next, came the problem with world hunger, and the remaining problems consisted of artificial intelligence and the inadequacies of the American legal system. Success came to all three of the Hildreth teams through their qualifica- tions to the FPS state bowl in Kearney during April. The senior team received second place over all, and first place in their skit competition. The intermediate team achieved third over all and first in their skit competition. The elementary team, also did a commendable job, receiving third place in their skit competition. Bob Alberts was awarded third on his scenario about the artificial intelligence problem during the state bowl, and Amy DeJonge placed fourth in state as an individual problem solver. She earlier placed first with a problem on feeding the world in pre-state competition

1985-86 was a busy year for Student Council members at Hildreth. The members entertained the student body with a movie prior to Christmas vacation. The students enjoyed watching “Cat Ballou.” Council members sold pop, popcorn and candy during the movie. They also assisted with Parent-Teacher Conferences. The members ran errands and helped parents locate the teachers they wished to visit. The students served on Grandparents Day. All who worked with these fine student leaders appreciated their hard work to make our school a better place. Members - Adrienne Benz, Amy Hinrichs, Tami Lindau, Carol Hogeland, Gretchen Bowles, Kelli Tobiassen, Kyle Swanson, Jerel Sanders, Kendall Black, Dennis Day, Russell Largent, Mr. Boss sponsor, and Duane Day.
