MfH Hildreth’s one act play Memori- al” was a very successful one. The cast placed second in competition at the conference contest. Hildreth hosted the District One Act Play Contest on January 22nd. At this competition, seven schools com- peted for the chance to compete at the State Contest. Hildreth once again was runnerup. Shelly Swarthout portrayed Mrs. Connor and Duane Day played her husband. The couple had lost their only son to war. They, their daughter, Leann Johnson, and their son's former fiance, Adrienne Benz, gather to watch the Memorial Day Parade and recall Billy. Without warning, Billy, Jay Halsted, reap- pears to attempt to know his family. The cast did a superior job and thank Mrs. Duncan for all her hard work. For the third year in a row, the mock trial team from Hildreth High School finished second in their district behind Alma. This year’s case dealt with sexual discrimination. The lawyers for the Greyhound team were Shelly Swarthout, Tarcia Frerichs and Brenda Casper. Adrienne Benz and Duane Day served as witnesses. In Phelps County Court, Hildreth defeated the Loomis mock trial team, and then lost to Alma for the right to go on to State Competition. The mock trial effort was helped out by Coach Rodney Boss and Attorney John Jelkin. (Back row) Adrienne Benz, Linda Bunger, Duane Day, Sponsor, Mr. Rodney Boss.
