They were picked the 2 team in the Class D-2,eight man pre-season football polls. At the end of a rewarding season they remained 2 but not without a fight for first. The team as a whole achieved many goals worth recognition. They were crowned NSCC regular season champs, along with being the first Hildreth football team to make state playoffs.They were rank- ed second in Class D-2 in the Lincoln Star and 3r in the Omaha World Herald The Bob Van Tine Athlete of the Month Award was also presented to the team for the month of November.But the most deserving of all was that they were crowned STATE RUNNER-UP in Class D-2. Along with these honors many others were received by individual players. The Hounds finished their season with a great record of 10-2. The Year of the Hounds will long be remembered by all who shared the triumph and defeat, not only players, but also their loyal fans. Football players honored on special teams: On all-conference 1st team: Jon Bunger, Kelly Loschen, and Jeff Welch. On 2n team: Dave Casper, Rick Frerichs, and Chad Koch.Honored on the Omaha World Herald all-state team: Jon Bunger, Jeff Welch, and Kelly Loschen, honorable men- tion. The Lincoln Star named Jon Bunger, Jeff Welch, and Kelly Loschen to their all-state team. Kelly Loschen was also named Defensive Player of the Year.
