YEAR: 1990 PLACE: Hildreth Gymnasium The first one we see approaching is Dana, trying to hitch a ride from her Grandma's house. Her blond-haired, green-eyed hubby is downtown eating a piece of strawberrynut cake. Ricky stops to pick her up in his truck loaded with hogs on his way to the market. He explains that his new city born wife is still trying to figure out a way to make hog sheds smell better. He informed us that they will be a little late. Marti's dad has just dropped her off and she limps her way to the door. She has just completed her last season of pro-basketball because of her knee injuries. She has to leave early to babysit for her nephew. We spot Terry and his blond wife by their wild colored helmets. He now drives his cycle everywhere because of gas prices. He plans to attach a side car to it, upon the arrival of a little Warnken. Terry is now the President of Warnken Warnken Warnken Hay Baling. Now entering the scene is the world known pianist, Nancy Johnson, who has just returned from a tour of Europe. She has finally mastered the technique of flipping pages and will accompany us while we sing the Muppet Movie . Here comes mad scientist, Mike Moore, in his jet powered car. Mike and his lovely wife are both working on a new formula that will completely eliminate cars from stalling in driveways. Driving up in their new 1990 red and white Blazer, are Marcia and her extremely tall husband. They are each seen dragging in their various sized children by the ears. Marcia now owns her own mens wear store in Minden which specializes in cloth- ing for extremely tall men. In skips Jeff and his very wealthy fiancee. Jeff is the player-coach of his fiancee's father's baseball team, The Moochers . Jeff will pursue his commercial acting career as soon as he can get off the panty hose he wore in the Junior Class Play. Lori has just received her fifth ring from her boyfriend but it still isn't an engagement ring. She will be starring in Disney's new version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs . She will be portraying her favorite dwarf in the movie. In staggers Chad. We can see his eyes shining through his lengthy blond hair, which hasn't been cut since graduation. Chad now writes the questions for Focus , which is distributed each week to high schools everywhere. In walks Sarah breathless. She tells us that she has just pushed Fred in from the mile corner. Sarah is now happily married and works as director of nursing at Lincoln Memorial. She specializes in the neck department. In runs Kelly with his shirt torn to shreds. We spot a mob of women trailing close behind. Kelly is known for his hit day time soap opera which you can soon catch on National Television. Kathy walks in, in the latest of fashion. She owns her own boutique in Paris. She says that fashion has it's restrictions because she can longer do-bee-do-bee on certain lawns. In jogs Brian in his sweats. Brian has moved up from custodian to head basketball coach at a daycare center. Brian and his petite wife have strict orders from Grandpa to be home early. And here she comes now screeching to a halt, Tammy has finally received the black camaro she has longed for since high school. Tammy is now the head stewardess at Macon International Airport. Greg has finally pulled up in his red goat. He has been burning up the streets since morning. Greg has just sold his millionth volume of his famous novel, The Bullshipper's Almanac. Late as usual, in crawls Carmela in her white uniform after a hectic night of saving lives. Carmela is still attending summer classes in hopes of graduating soon0 Her career has been slowed down by her husband's rough climb to fame, in music. The Student Council put on the Christ- mas movie again for us this year. It was Oh God , and everyone enjoyed it. President Marti Metzger, Vice-President Dana Bunger and Secertary-Treasure Diane Casper, along with all the other members worked hard popping popcorn and selling concessions during breaks in the movie. The Student Council also worked hard on setting up Parent's Night. This is where the parents are recognized for their great dedication to their child and the school. National Honor Society is an organization sponsored by the National Association of Principals. Membership is based on service, scholarship, character, and citizenship. The National Honor Society at Hildreth did something different this year. Sophomores were eligible to become probationary mem- bers for the first time. The constitution of National Honor Society states that 10th graders cannot be active members so the 10th graders that were voted in became probationary members. Congratulations go out to new members Lynette Nelson, Tammy Fritson, Sarah Jacobs, and Winkie Bienhoff. Probationary members Teresa Frecks, Dave Miller, Karen Hunt, Sue Kiker, and Jackie Welch also should be recognized. Good Job! Y-Teens kept very busy with all their activities. The girls enjoyed Trick or Treating for UNICEF, going to the Fall Tea, and making new recipes for the World Fellow- ship Fair. The Christmas party was fun and the mystic candle was given to Nancy Johnson. During Valentines week they were busy trying to find out who their Secret Heart Sister was. Once a year the girls have a date with their father. It's always a surprise to get up at five in the morning to go to breakfast. The Y-Teens ended another great year with their annual Spring Tea. FBLA The FBLA started off the year right by increasing membership to twenty members. In Sept, the off icers went to an off icers work- shop in North Platte to learn about their duties as FBLA offi- cers. Driving them to North Platte was their sponsor, Mr. O'Neill. At Christmas time everyone's Secret Santa kept them guessing, until the party where the Santas revealed themselves. In February the Double-Dime-A-Dip Supper was held as a money making project. Finally came the big event of the year, the convention at the Hilton Hotel in Omaha. Those members who went learned much and really enjoyed their trip. All in all it was a successful year for FBLA. The 1979-80 Pep Club found it easy to do just that during this year's exciting football and basketball games. President Tammy Fritson kept things going with the help of Vice-President Teresa Swarthout, Secretary Teresa Frecks, Treasurer Diane Casper and especially the most dreaded of all, Marcia Bertrand , Merit Recorder. Julie Jelden and Andrea Osterbuhr were in charge of the concession stand and always made sure it was full of plenty of good things to eat. Head Cheerleader Dana Bunger along with Nancy Johnson, Lynette Nelson, Winkie Bienhoff, Julie Kruse, and Lisa Loschen always kept the spirit and enthusiasm bubbling with pep rallies and leadership of crowd cheers. The sponsors Mrs. Loughran, Mrs. Nemecek, and Miss Grooms all deserve a thank-you for a job well done and the time they put in to make the pep club a success this year! 1st Row: J.Jelden,T.Swarthout,N.Johnson,S.Kiker,T.Frecks,M.Metzger. 2nd Row: J.Alberts,J.Burns,N.Frerichs,L.Hinrichs,B.Schwartz,D.Casper, L.Loschen,V.Schmidt,D.Bunger,J.Sanders,K.Hunt,R.Metzger,B.Hinrichs. 3rd Row: V.Russel1,J.Sanders,S.Pollock,M.Mi Her,G.Frecks,B.Swarthout, L.Stratman,J,Kruse,L.Jelden,J.Hinrichs,L.Johnson,L.Kersenbrock,BĀ«Casper, R.Hunt,C.Schmidt,J.Soker,L.Harms,J.Jelkin,L.Nelson. They raffled off three large hearts filled with chocolates. At half- time of both games the ladies were able to win smaller hearts by making a free throw. Just think Sophomores: Only two more years to go! FRESHMAN The Freshmen enjoyed their first year of High School and being able to participate in interscholastic sports. President Lisa Loschen, along with the other officers, Vice President Julie Greening, Secretary Nancy Egge, and Treasurer Randy Olson kept the class on their toes thinking of good money making projects. One of these was a dance after the first basketball game. Mr. Lough- ran filled in as disc jockey and everyone who went had a lot of fun. The Freshmen hope to have as much fun in the next three years of High School as they had in their f irs t. 8th GRADE Jamie Alberts Janet Burns Troy Casper Debbie Dallmann 1 Greg Frecks Brian Frerichs Nicole Frerichs Loree Hinrichs Jim Hopkins Rodney Hunt Lance Jelden Jeff Johnson Lisa Johnson Lisa Kersenbrock Judy Kruse PHOTO NOT AVAILABLE Valerie Russell Lisa Schlenz Linda Stratmann OFFICERS Do you want to buy a box of candy? was frequently heard whenever an eighth grader was near. Selling candy was their main money making project and it was very successful. While everyone was gaining weight, the 8th graders pros- pered. President Janet Burns, Vice- President Lisa Kersenbrock, Treasurer Rodney Hunt, and Secretary Troy Casper, kept the class organized. All in all, the 8th grade enjoyed their last year before entering high school. 7th GRADE Susan Pollock Joani Sanders Curtis Schmidt Becky Schwartz OFFICERS For their first year in Junior High the 7th graders all had a real great year. President Brenda Swarthout, along with Vice-President Brent Hinrichs, Secretary Becky Schwartz and Treasurer Jill Hinrichs all began to learn the duties of a class officer. They found it was quite a change going from class to class and trying to be there on time. Although it is fun growing up and being part of the high school scene they still missed recess.
