CLASS PROPHECY The year is 1985. The class of 1975 is about to begin its ten-year reunion at the Hildreth High School gymnasium. First to arrive is JIM LOSCHEN in his John Deer Convertible. Jim is still employed at Scwartz Brothers in Hil- dreth, but he is thinking about changing the name to Loschen Brothers, Inc. Next to arrive is MIKE KOCH, who is still complaining about his blue Chevy, wondering if it's jacked up high enough. He was formerly employed as head custodian at the Macon School. Following his wife is RICK SMITH and his two blonde-haired little girls. He is still employed at the beef plant in Minden, but in his spare time he is still Dean Eberle's hitman. We have just got word that CINDY STEINKRUGER will not be able to attend for she is in Orlando, Florida, still trying to pass her basic training test. We heard her hair is just starting to grow back after her short haircut which she got upon arrival at Orlando. Next to arrive is JANET DALLMANN. She is still her easy-going self. She is enjoying her work as a social wor- ker in Beatrice. Waiting outside for the others is DEAN EBERLE, who is still polishing up his '73 Chevelle, which is still in excell- ent condition. Zooming down in his stolen Air Force plane and landing on Hildreth's new asphalt track is JOHN LIENEM ANN. He says he can't stay too long because the Air Force might discover the plane is missing. Arriving next is MIKE HITCHCOCK, who is escorted by four of his attractive cocktail waitresses who are employed by him at his bar in Kearney. Here comes DOREEN I WERT, who is now enjoying her work at the court house in Franklin as a part-time secretary. Just pulling up is MARLYS HINRICHS, who is now working at Garrett Real Estate in Minden. In her spare time she helps her little brother Waldeen get ready for his college football career. What's that? It's a souped-up green mustang with JACK METZGER at the wheel. Jack reports that he is the lea- der of a rock group that is celebrating its first gold record. Arriving next is KERRY SEXSON in an ambulance, but this time Kerry is driving it instead of riding in it. He de- cided that if he does have a wreck it would be handy to have an ambulance at the scene of the accident. If there are any injuries tonight, WANDA OSTERBUHR will be ready to assist the injured because she is employed as a nurse at the Kearney County Hospital. She is now married and has two curly-haired boys. Driving up in his red bomb is KEV EINSPAHR with his wife and eleven girls. He is still trying for eleven boys to complete his football team. We just got word that SUSIE BUNGER will be a little late because she is having trouble getting a canoe to bring her back from Cuba. Susie hasn't hooked anyone yet. CRAIG BAUER just rolled up in his new four-wheel drive pick-up. With him is one of his many girl friends. He is arriving late because he just put two new L-50's on his pick-up and installed his seventh two-way radio. BRUCE KRUSE, who is head football coach at KSC, is followed by his wife and two little boys. Bruce's players are still trying to explain to him the difference between offense and defense. Next to arrive is DOUG FRITZ. Doug is not too excited or worried about what he is going to do the rest of his life. He is running the Hildreth IGA and taking it easy. BEV REWERTS, her usual shy self, has just pulled up. She spends most of her time trying to help others. She is enjoying her work at the Bethany Mission. The Rev. TERRY HINRICHS just roared up in his rail that he and Jim Loschen recently built. Wait--he is leav- ing! Oh--he said that he forgot his wife and had to drive back to Hastings to pick her up. He said he would be back in ten minutes. CATHY BENSON just rolled up in her Camero. Right now she says she is keeping busy racing motorcycles across the Baha. When asked about her plans for the future, she said she can't decide between the convent or One-Time Charley. It appears that we have heard from everyone except JIM BEBENSEE. Oh--here he comes now! He reports that he got side tracked in the shower and apologizes for being so late. Jim is employed as a farmer, and he says that he and Chopper are still looking for a party house or a trailer to live in. Terry just got back from Hastings with his wife; and Susie called to say that she got a canoe and would be here in a few hours. The gymnasium is packed with class members, their spouses, and their children. A class reunion like Hildreth has never seen before begins. Everyone decides that they must have another reunion in 1995 to see what fantastic accomplishments the Class of 1975 has achieved by that time. 10
