I, Brian Halbert, will my ability to pick locks to Jerry Johnson, providing he doesn't get caught. I, Shirley Stuhmer, will my ability to hook a man to Wanda Frerichs. I, LaDonna Knapp, will my artistic ways to Dick Fuerst if he can stay in one jslace long enough to accomplish something. I, Harold Bunger, will my quiet and agreeable ways to Ronny Nordbrock. I want it to stay in the family, you know. I, Lily Hansen, will all my ex-boy friends to Naomi Johnson, providing they don't hinder her volleyball playing. I, Dean Jelden, will my nickname, Jerky , to Sharron Whipple; it seems as though she likes it better than I do. I, Carol Frecks, will my studious ways to Dwaine Osterbuhr. Maybe he can find more time to study than I did. I, John Schmidt, will my manly physique to Leroy Frerichs, knowing that he will become the track all-star. Class History At the beginning of the school term in 1942, a group of small, but active, youngsters enrolled in the Hildreth Public School. They were as follows: Billy Denman, Shirley Stuhmer, Dean Jelden, Harold Bunger, Lyle Nordbrock, Larry Schwartz, Brian Halbert, Lavon Johnson, Lily Anne Hansen, and Evon Nordbrock. During the second year only eight of the original ten returned. The ones lost during this time were Billy Denman and Lyle Nordbrock. We also gained Paul Harms. And so we were nine happy kids off in a year of adventure and excitement. Upon entering our third year we were all the same crowd, but on September 23 we lost Paul, and again on February 12 Lavon moved away. So we continued just us seven through the fourth grade of our phase of the educational world. At the beginning of our fifth term in Hildreth, two more joined us. They were Marilyn Tjaden and LaDonna Knapp. In the sixth grade Dean Jelden, Larry Schwartz, Brian Halbert, Harold Bunger, Evon Nordbrock, Marilyn Tjaden, Shirley Stuhmer, Lily Anne Hansen, and Paul Harms composed the lively group. In our seventh year we lost Paul H. but gained Peggy Endicot. At the second semester of the eighth grade, Peggy moved away. So on to high school we went with our knees knocking from fright and holding the name of the Green Freshmen. We started our new but exciting adventure with this group: Larry Schwartz, Harold Bunger, John Schmidt, Brian Halbert, Dean Jelden, Lavon Johnson, Harold Eckhoff, Donald Loschen, Carol Frecks, Shirley Stuhmer, Lily Anne Hansen, and LaDonna Knapp. At the beginning of the second semester we were joined by Karen Caspers. In our Sophomore year we remained the same except we lost Harold Eckhoff. In our Junior year Donald L. left this group, but we did gain Beth Schroder. On entering our last and most exciting year, we lost Lavon J. , but at last we carried the name of being full fledged Seniors only to enter into a world un- known following the Commencement Exercises on May 18, when we receive our diplomas and turn our tassels; a day never to be forgotten. Class Prophecy In the summer of 1964 the Senior Class of ten years previous met in the new Hildreth High School Auditorium, which was built and dedicated to them as one of the most outstanding classes ever graduated from the Hildreth Public School. As Harold was living the nearest to our meeting place, he arrived thirty minutes early in his Model A Ford with his nine boys. His wife was unable to attend as she couldn't get off work. Harold is having financial troubles because each of his nine boys wear size fourteen shoes now too. John was the second class member to arrive. John has found himself a wife and is now living on the home place. Incidentally he has given up farming with horses and is now busy farming 300 acres of irrigated land with several tractors. Carol Jean came next. She and Virgil are gradually increasing their bank account in the goat raising business. By the way, they are raising kids of their own, so Carol Jean is still practicing her nursing career. Shirley and Ben were there only a few minutes after Carol Jean. Shirley had to close her shop, Face and figure lifted after four sets of twins , for this special occasion, but they will leave early as they left their twelve kids in charge of the juvenile officer of Hastings, Nebraska. Brian, our math brain, came rolling in next. Brian has wormed his way through college into the engineering field. A special railroad track was laid for this occasion. He arrived in his new original Atomic Powered Choo Choo . He informed us that Sharron would be along later, that she was operating the caboose and it was only a half day's run from the caboose to the engine. LaDonna attended Kearney State Teachers College for four years, and is now teaching at the All American Art College in Pennsylvania. She and her husband, both having a liking for horses, started out to this reunion in their brand new carriage and a new team of palamino horses. They ended up taking a train as they couldn't seem to make it through the Pennsylvania Turnpike with their horses. Not enough speed, I guess. Lily Anne arrived on her new red four-wheeled motorcycle with yellow hub caps. As she came to a screeching half, twenty-four patrolmen carrre racing along behind her. Lily Anne always did have a way with the men, didn't she?
