Class History Due to the fact that there were no Seniors who attended grade school all eight years here in Hildreth, we cannot locate nor remember our complete history. This is why we will begin with the year 1949 when we were Freshmen with Fifteen in our class. The members of this proud class were Bill Headley, Verleen Hollingshead, Mary Jane Hansen, and Lloyd Putman all of Hildreth; also Gerald Loschen, Gerald Westerbuhr, Dale Bunger, Denzel Frerichs, Arlene Schmidt, and Carol Mae Bunger from school dis- tricts surrounding Hildreth. Lawrence Fruhling hailed from way down yonder near Orleans, Nebraska, and from the good old Macon Prairie were Eunice Adam, Caroline Adam, Richard Rohnke, and Vern Johnson. During the Freshman year Verleen left our class and Vern Johnson did not attend school any longer when we were Sophomores. The urge to farm that good old black soil seized him. Gerald Loschen dropped out of our class when he was a Sophomore. At the second semester of the Junior year Bill Headley found better opportunities in the Navy. Lawrence Lippstreu spied the Hildreth High School when he was a Junior and decided he would give it a try. He made up for all the losses we had. That made our Junior Class in 1950-51 a class of twelve members. This year we came back as Seniors and have not regretted that we continued to go to school here. Many happy hours along with a few trying ones were found here but that is what makes life interesting. We have made many friends and when we turn back the pages of time Hildreth will be a high spot;!! 11
