Hildreth Public Library Mervyn Harms and his “latest gal” had a long drive in order to attend the occasion as he was a butcher in Iowa. He said that the grocery business wasn't bad as he weighed 210 pounds. Lloyd Fruhling had been keeping himself busy as he was the owner of “Fruhling's Tavern in Kansas. He also had some female business in Franklin, Nebraska. Edna Hansen related her experiences on the road to Chicago. She had just returned from a painter’s expedition. Edna had proved to be a very successful career woman. Melvin Jelkin filled the day's gab sessions with his recent tips on soil conservation. He boasted of his corn crop which he said “averaged 120 bushels per acre . His corn brings in enough money to 'raise cane'. Julius Rickels had been re-elected as chief of police of New York City. He gave each of his classmates a ride in his custom built Cadillac. We had to remove our shoes before getting in the car. Neil Nordbrock was late but we were certainly glad to see him. He had been on the air as Commedian over station XXXX. He ran Bob Hope out of business with his dry humor. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed the occasion and a reunion was planned for the spring of 1971- We’ll see you then!'.! 15
