stage band members: hack row: linda dauvvalder, carol miller, russel graves. 2nd rovv: jon harmon, andy lee rolly troyer, mike conn, mark stutzman, 'lst rovv: jackie miller, peg nickles, steph shuman, michelle maag, anita troyer. linda dauvvalder top music honors this year linda dauvvalder received the tvvo top honors in music. these are the john phillip sousa and the louie armstrong jazz avvards. linda has been involved in both band and stage band all of her four years at hiland. she plays mainly percussion but can also play trumpet and is very gifted on the organ. she gives private drum lessons and is planning to attend capitol university next year vvhere she vvill major in music.

band '7 the marching band got off to a good start Ioy winning lst place in the marching competition in oryille. the band will be adding a new look next year with new uni- forms along with a new flag corps and field commander. the concert band had a fine year. they competed in dis- trict contest, gave a christ- mas program, and a spring program. linda dauvvalder and greg towner stage band '78 this year the stage band enjoyed another successful festival featur- ing 4 other area bands. they also had a full year of performances. they Worked hard and did a good job at everything they did. greg and linda linda dauvvalder and greg tovvner received the honor of being se- lected for Who's vvho among american music students. both were involved in many musical activities both in school and in the community. they are both very talented and are both going on to school for music. good luck greg and linda you deserve to make it big.
