Sen i o r K m Viiledietorinn Phyllis Goehring, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Goehring, Valedictorian of the Class of 1960, has attended H. H. S. for four years. Besides achieving such a high scholastic average, she was Senior Class president, a member of Student Coun- cil, Mixed Chorus and Girls' Glee. This year Phyllis was business manager of thcHisodak, hav- ing worked on it for two previous years. She also has served as president of the FHA Chapter, was a librarian, a reporter for the Pirate Journal, and active in Declam. She has had roles in both the Junior and Senior Class plays. Among her high honors she won first in the Bookkeeping Division of the Commercial Contest and was, also, one of the attendants for Pirate Day. Phyllis's plans for the future are to attend Augustana College, Sioux Falls, S. D. in the fall. Sal ii la tori an Suzan McDonald, .daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julian McDonald, Salutatorianof the Class of 1960, has attended H. H.S. for three years. She attended Mount Marty High School, Yankton, S. D. , during her freshman year. She has been a member of Student Council, Mixed Chorus, Girls’ Glee and an accompanist. This year Suzan was editor of the Hisodakand last year she was asst, business man- ager. Suzan has been an active member of FHA for three years. Suzan was a librarian, a reporter for the Pirate Journal, and was active in Declam. She has had roles in both the Junior and Senior Class plays. Suzan was crowned Homecoming Queen on Pirate Day, 1959. She was Girl Stater in her junior year and County DAR representative. Suzan plans to attend Presentation Junior Col- lege, Aberdeen, S. D. in the fall.
