This day with all its gala festivities shall long remain in our memories. The crowning of Larry Brock and Sharon Mehrer as Pirate Day king and queen on Thursday evening inaugurated the homecoming activities. After the coronation the royal party received regal entertainment from Pirate hula-hoopers and singers. The traditional pep fest and snake dance followed. On Friday afternoon, under the direction of Tom Durfee, Pirate Day marshall, the procession of beautifully decorated floats added a touch of color to the day's festivities. The highlight of Pirate Day was the winning of the gridiron game as the Pirates defeated Faulkton by a score of 14-7. As the homecoming activities were brought to a successful close many new memories were born and many old memories of former school days were renewed. The high school band furnished music for the day's activities. TOP ROW: G . Gunderwi, T-IO McOermott, G . Blackwell, D . Curt , J . Raneifod, F . Porker, D . Darfee, and J . Gonifloo. The story centered around two rival towns—Harristown and Wessington. It concerned all the trouble Jim, the Harristown football hero, went through to win the heart of Susie, his hard-to-get girlfriend. Her little brother, Petey, and his pal Gussie, received a lot of laughs while trying to help Jim get on Susie's good side. As a change of pace the senior class exhibited its serious acting ability by presenting the drama, A Man Called Peter, a biography in three acts dramatized from the book of the same title by Catherin Marshall. The story follows the life of Peter Marshall, a young Scottish immigrant who became a vital, energetic minister in the prominent New York Avenue church in Washington D. C.
