The Council has been very active throughout the entire year and has helped keep our school system operating smoothly. They were, in order; the Pierre Legion Relays, Aberdeen Relays, the Conference Meet at Pierre, the Regional Meet at Pierre, and the State Meet at Mitchell. At the Pierre Legion Relays the Pirates won the St. Charles Traveling Trophy for one year. The music department has had a very busy year with many students participat- ing in both instrumental and vocal music under the capable direction of Miss Blan - chard. This year a new organization, the Boys' Glee Club has been added to the de- partment besides the Band, Mixed Chorus and Girls' Glee Club which previously existed. These have all been very active along with smaller instrumental and vocal groups and solos.
