Mr. Alan Lund, has initiated new ideas and teaching methods in the vocal music program throughout this past year. The vocal courses offered were Men's and Women's Chorus, Concert Choir, and New Madrigal Singers. The New Madrigal Singers, rehearsing every day before school, was a group composed of the especially talented singers of Highline High School which performed throughout the year in both school and community. Mr. lim Blake, band director at Highline, managed to divide his time among the various groups in the band, instructing brasses, woodwinds, and percussion in the techniques peculiar to their own instruments. In addition to playing in the concert band, students were involved in a number of small ensembles, which provided musical entertainment throughout the year for games, assemblies, and other school events.
