DAVE BENNETT FRED LePENSKE RICH I-IEINO DICK BEAMER MIKE BEFFA President Vice-President Secretary Treasurer Business-Manager Twelve Years Before the Mast OOKING PASSAGE for a round-the-world-of-education tour in the fall of 1956, nearly 700 sophomores began their expedition. Guiding the wayfarers on this maiden voyage were their officers: Steve Barlow, presidentg Rich Heino, vice-president, Margie Conrad, secretary, Betty Schultz, treasurerg Mr. Neil Mc- Kay, counselorg and Mr. Donald Simpson, adviser. After completing the first lap of their jaunt, the navigators selected new offi- cers to take the wheel. Charting the course were XVally Calkins, jean Cornelius, Chi Chi Cook, and Betty Schultz. This junior year proved to be rewarding in every way. Switching advisers in mid-stream, Mr. Spencer Hungerford and Nr. liarl Trowbridge assisted the senior officers David Bennett, Fred LePenske, Rich Heino, Dick Beamer, and Mike Beffa in keeping the class within its boundaries. lin route, many students entered the foreign seas of literature, history and science. Sailing into port with several members on National Honor Society and Torch, the class displayed its superiority in extra-curricular activities as well as in academic fields. lnterestin side-trips included honors in forensics, art, and homemaking. This group had lneen on the road for three years, with whistle stops at Friend- ships, Classes, and Activities. At last, the entourage reached its destination, Ma- turity, in june of 1959. Although the graduates have now gone separate ways, each will carry with him the memories of that voyage. Having been thus prepared by this round-the- world-of-education tour, they face unafraid the major journey, Life. Twenty-four
