Only in the United States does one find this retention of educational responsibility at the local level. Because this is so, the school board feels a sincere responsibility for assisting student leaders in solving some of the complicated problems that arise during the year. ln carrying out these important duties, the Highline school board was especially fortunate in the caliber of members elected. Present directors include Board President Mr. james W. Bice, Yice-President Mrs. Ola Mae Crawford, Dr. Vic- tor Thompson, Mr. Stanley M. Little, jr., and Mr. Charles B. Guslander, who succeeded Mr. Xkilliam E. Nloshier after he passed away during his term of service. Special recognition is given to Mr. Nloshier for his dedicated interest in youth and their educational welfare. To know him was to admire himg to work with him was to open new vistas for the mind and heart. The students of Highline acknowledge both theirs and the community s debt of gratitude for unselfish service and accomplishment by the Highline District Board of Directors.
