Wisely and Well community swimming pool. The students responded enthusiastically and in an all-out drive, raised five thousand dollars from the residents of the Highline District. ' One of the most worthwhile projects promoted was the Teens-Against-Polio drive. Fourteen schools participated in the raising of funds which contributed to the March of Dimes. Probably the erection of the Pirates' sign was their outstand- ing project. Under the leadership of Lambert Peterson, the committee chairman, the Board listened to bids of various companies, saw diffrent plans, and finally signed the check for the long-awaited Pirates' sign. Financially, the greatest investment was the purchase of Camp XVaskowit1, to add to the Highline districts vast wealth of resources of knowledge. The camp will be used by the district summer camp and by the sixth graders during the school year. To take advantage of the Board of Control's earlier investment of Camp XVasko- witz, Highline had its Hrst annual Student Leadership Conference there in May. Those who attended were of this year's and next year's Board of Control. The pur- pose of this conference was to help next year's student organization to a good start in guiding Highline to another successful year.
