Adele M Zimmerman, Doris Callaway. Lois Colburn, Virginia Ames. Girls Club Under the direction of Miss Ross, their new adviser, the Girls' Club has completed a highly eventful year. She was assisted by a capable corps of officers consisting of Dear Helen, Muriel Gribble, presidentz Adele Zimmerman, vicefpresidentg Doris Gallaway, secre tary: Lois Colburn, treasurer: Virginia Ames, historian, and the Girls' Club Cabinet Nellie Morgan, jairrie Lumbert, Betty Wiiiter, Gloria Parker, Elizabeth Rissmann Florence Rassmussen, and Evelyn Nelson The year's program was launched early in the fall by a Red Cross drive, at which time miscellaneous articles such as clothes hangers and cold cream jars, were gathered from each home room. Throughout the year various Junior Red Cross projects were started, including the making of Chistmas favors and darts for the Marine Hospital Our social season began with the Big Sister Party in October, with more than three hundred girls participating. In February the Girls' Club Cabinet held a tea in honor of Mrs. Smythe, the Red Cross Field Director. A new highlight in entertainment was the fashion show, sponsored by Miss Ross and presented at a ioint Boys' and Girls' Club meeting. This event had most of the eligible males of Highline participating, thus adding a note most style reviews sadly lack. Everything from tennis clothes to formal evening dress was shown, with Muriel Gribble acting as narrator as she described the attractive wardrobe of the models. Linoleum for the Nurses Room and even full-length mirrors for the Girls' Room were items purchased by the girls. We hope to round out a full year of activity as soon as preparations for the Motherflbaughter Tea are completed. Best wishes, BETTY.

Pete, Embarking upon a year filled with Greetings and The Navy wants youf' an enthusiastic Boys' Club Cabinet has completed another successful year under the indispensable guidance of Mr. Jensen. This year the cabinet started with the capable leadership of Ed Niehl, president, Bill Burns, vice-president, and Bruce Keeler, secretary. Class representatives were Charles Mcjunkin, seniorg jack Sherwood, junior, Larry O'Neal, sophomore, Bill Jeremiah, freshmen, and Frank McEachern, representing the Knights of Cutlass. When Ed, Chuck and Frank heeded their Uncle's call to arms at midyear, Bill Burns stepped into the pilot's seat, while Stan Rottrup and Stuart Hunting were appointed to fill the vacancies of senior representative and Knights of the Cutlass representative respectively. One of the main accomplishments of the group this year was helping with the mailing of the school paper to our former students, which was made possible through splendid cooperation with the High Lines' staff. Notes of acknowledgement and thanks have been received from all parts of the world, showing that you grads really appref ciated this bit of news from the little red schoolhouse. Another step up the ladder of forming a better Boys' Club was the installation of more playground equipment. This included badly needed new backstops, several horse shoe pits, and volleyball and basketball courts. Plans were laid for hardfsurfaced handball courts, which will be carried on into next year. The addition of these facilities is expected to be most worthwhile. Another highlight of the year was the joint Boys' and Girls' Club assembly. It featured the correct way to carry out everyday manners and courtesies. A cleverly presented style show demonstrated the right things to wear at the right time. This assembly was enthusiastically acclaimed one of the best ever presented at Highline. As in the past, the Boys' Club outdoor meeting was a complete success, for everyone engaged in class competition, stunts and exhibitions with wholefhearted zest. Meanwhile, the Boys' Club continued to sponsor the noon dances, and the old Basket Ballroom was kept rockin' by the rhythms of Old Faithful, our jukebox. 'Your old side-kick, Laiuw.
