Judy, a senior, is president of Brigade, a member of the National Honor Society, and Sigma Epsilon. She is a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Competition. She is a very active participant in Student Council and she is Chairman of the Spirit and Pride Committee. ln her sophomore year she was president of the Sophomore Class, a member of FHA, and Brigade. She has also been, Chairman of the Interracial Council.N diane barden P l phillip balleza Phillip, a senior, is District, Region, Area, and All-State Band member, a Region and Area Orchestra member, plays the cello in the San Antonio Youth Symphony, and a member of Trinity University Community Orchestra. He has been reporter, historian, and treasurer of the Latin Club. He is treasurer of Chem-Bi-Phy. Phillip is a member of the National Honor Society and Sigma Epsilon. He is an Honor Graduate.

This year each student had the opportunity to nominate them- selves for consideration. These students then were evaluated Seniors against Seniors, Jun- iors against Juniors, Sopho- mores against Sophomores and Freshmen against Fresh- men. Students were evaluated as to their service to Highlands in terms of service both quality and quantity to Highlands for their career at Highlands. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Sigma Epsilon and Golf Team. James was named Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Competition and is an Honor Graduate. He also serves on the SAISD Advisory Committee that deals with Drug Abuse, Bilingual Education and Tutoring. He attended the Brown Engineering Development Committee Summer Program at Rice. Tony, a senior, is sergeant at arms in Student Council. He is a member of the Honor Society and Sigma Epsilon. Tony has been a part of the Varsity Football Team for the past two years. During his freshman year, he was on the Basketball Team. tony Cutrona Wayland davis Wayland, a senior, has been a part of the Varsity Football team for the past two years. He is also an active participant in Track. He was named Finalist in the National Achievement Scholarship Competition this year. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Sigma Epsilon, Chem-Bi-Phy and Phos Estos. Wayland is an Honor Graduate.
