CAMPUS LIFE The school year of 1966 was a year rich with old and new experiences, a year of cheering, cramming, failing and succeed- ing, a year resulting in heart- break and happiness, ioy and sorrow, an exhibition of fierce loyalty incorporated with the spirit of Highlands-t h e un- breakable spirit of HHS. Each student strove to do his best in upholding the standards of wis- dom, honor and truth. Each stood stiffly at attention as the first chords of the school song were heard, each reverently bowed his head as the fighting Owls prayed, each engaged en- thusiastically in all school func- tions. Each student participated, enioyed, learned, experienced and grew. Each contributed to the spirit of Highlands-that intangible, unbreakable spirit of HHS. Carpeted lawns spotted with a variety of full-sized trees have replaced empty rooms that have in less crowded years been the refuge of students seeking a quiet spot for last minute cramming. Darlene and Bobby, unable to find an empty classroom, resorted to the campus grounds away from the masses. f'f' Lunch hour provides opportune minutes for Bobby Zintgraff and Darlene Wiggins to catch up on their trig homework. Bobby tries to demonstrate his male superiority to Darlene by explaining trig principles. ?5? ' T 3 gg
