House Fact tttes tu Highlands 2130 Students Band Hall West Wing Highlands High School can be described as large and modern, designed to- provide for the large and modern needs in education today and in the future. The three-year-old school was built at a cost of about 52,500,000. Highland facilities are now used by 2130 students. Highlands High School is located on a twenty- three acre site, with 197,986 square feet under roof. Highlands is the largest public school ever built in San Antonio. Facilities at Highlands include forty-two classrooms, as well as sewing and foods labs, an art lab, chemistry lab, physics lab, and three shops. A project is underway to obtain a 'Foreign language laboratory to aid th e many students studying 'foreign languages. In the past three years, extensive landscaping has greatly enhanced the physical beauty of Highlands, and students may enioy it in leisure moments from convenient benches scattered about the campus.
