14 tlaletic Committee The Athletic Committee did a great deal towards increasing school spirit and interest in all the games we sponsored - football, basketball, baseball, and track. We bought new uniforms for the tootball, baseball, and basketball teams, and in addition to that a set ot boxing gloves to settle disputes! We sponsored all pep meetings and rallies, and awarded letters to all letter men and women. Also we advertised the games - supported the teams in every way possible, and entertained visiting teams. We did many things which We think made our school a nicer and cleaner place. The first of the year We had the entire school grounds cleaned and then asked that it be kept that Way. We had a girl to keep the sick room bed linens clean. We ran a contest for the neatest and cleanest homeroom, which was won by Mrs. Creeger's room. The purpose was to show how nice the school room can look. Next, We had the Boys' Physical Education Classes Wash the hall walls to get rid of all marks and dirt. Last, but not least, this year, the House and Grounds Corn- mittee made curtains for the iniirmary and got a large glass top for the table.

These programs have centered around various interests of the students. Sports played their part in football and basketball pep meetings and the awarding of letters at the close of the season. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter programs were planned, With the traditional religious themes. Five professional entertain- ments were presented which the committee sponsored. Other assembly exercises were conducted by various groups and organizations, the topics being based on special interests and needs of the students. This committee was sponsored by Miss Vifaring, with Earlene Muire as chairman and Patsy Teasley as secretary.
