Ser ice Committee Chairrnar.: IEWELL SLACHTER Sponsor: MISS H. CAVANAUGH Serving the school and alumni was the designated purpose of the Service Committee. We started the year off by writing letters full of news to our boys and girls in service. We sponsored a cheerful bulletin board for our classmates, took charge of the Patrick Henry Memorial Fund Drive, and managed a clothing drive for the needy Europeans. We sent cards to our friends who were sick or who lost members of their family. The Committee had a very helpful and active sponsor this year, Miss H. Cavanaugh. We hope we can serve our school and alumni with new and better ideas in the future. We did many things which We think made our school a nicer and cleaner place. The first of the year We had the entire school grounds cleaned and then asked that it be kept that Way. We had a girl to keep the sick room bed linens clean. We ran a contest for the neatest and cleanest homeroom, which was won by Mrs. Creeger's room. The purpose was to show how nice the school room can look. Next, We had the Boys' Physical Education Classes Wash the hall walls to get rid of all marks and dirt. Last, but not least, this year, the House and Grounds Corn- mittee made curtains for the iniirmary and got a large glass top for the table.
