Highland Tankers Place Eleventh in Sta ie E Seniors: Becky Burchell, Phil Ruud, Joe Rebholz, Jack Post, Ken Kixmoeller, Kevin Conway, Brian Westover. 'Q -,Af Captains Ken Kixmoeller and Jack Post with coach Chicoine. Highland's swim team clearly dom- inated the St. Paul conference by posting a 8-O record in conference meets for the 7th consecutive year. In non-conference action, High- land took on four of the other top 10 teams in the state. The Scots- men Tankers also placed 4th in two relay invitationals, Bloom- ington and Hamline. The 1972-73 swim season record: a fine 11 wins- 3 losses. Once again, Highland placed in the top eleven teams in the state. The squad is a relatively young one, with 8 seniors and 6 juniors, backed up by 10 sopho- mores and 5 junior high swim- mers. This year's team was lead by Highland's Mark Spitz, Jack Post, who holds 6 team records. Other members of the squad who made the season the success that it was were senior Joe Rebholz, whose prowess in almost all events gave Highland its versatility, sen- iors Brian Westover and Dennis Klocow, along with junior Jim Kaplan, who gave the team its depth in the freestyle events and co-captain Ken Kixmoeller, used primarily in the backstroke, who jelled the team with his hard work and enthusiasm. The breaststroke duo of seniors Phil Ruud and Kevin Conway provided the necessary efforts to round out a fine squad for the season. With up-and-com- ing juniors John DeYoung, John lVlcKee, Greg O'Leary and Alan Berkovitz returning along with a host of fine sophomores, the future for the Scotsmen Tankers looks very encouraging.
