Highland's football team had a 7-1 record in conference 1 competition. Highlands de- fense held 5 of the 8 confer- ence opponents scoreless: allowing only 27 points. Neish, Gerber, Johnson and Budzien were stalwarts on de- fense. Offensively, Highland scored 165 points. Leading scorers were McLevish, Weeks, Yungbauer, and Kelly. The 1972-73 basketball season turned out to be highly successful. After an opening loss to Anoka C51-445 the team reeled off 18 straight victories. The con- ference season was highlighted by two decisive victories over 2nd rated Hard- ing, and a perfect 16-O record. The Scotsmen played one of their finest games when they defeated Mpls. Washburn 82-50 for their first Twin City basketball championship.
